Do I Have Other Gluten And Dairy Free Breakfasts

Everything we eat has to be gluten and dairy free because of my sons food allergies, so we have quite a few gluten and dairy free breakfast recipes. Here are some of our favorites, we think youll love them too!

If you’re looking for some gluten and dairy free dinners, check out my cookbook: An Allergy Mom’s Lifesaving Instant Pot Cookbook.

*Our allergies, while severe and that get re-tested yearly, are such that we can go strictly by what’s on the label. I do not call companies to see what things are derived from, or call manufacturers to see about potential cross contact. If your allergies require you to do so, please do your own homework. I cannot assure you of any ingredient’s safety, only you can do that. I simply share what works for our family.

**If you are going to feed this to someone with food allergies, and you yourself do not have food allergies, I HIGHLY recommend having them check every single brand and ingredient you are using, to ensure they’re OK with each part of the recipe. And, to make sure you’ve talked to them about how to avoid cross contamination in your kitchen.

Perfect Steel Cut Oats

Are you a steel cut oats fan? These chewy oats have a porridge-like texture and feel like a cozy hug in the morning. Theyre a fun way to mix up the standard Old Fashioned oats, and may have some slight benefits over them: though both are an incredibly healthy way to start the day! You can make a big pot of steel cut oats in 25 minutes and eat off of the leftovers all week!

Special Diet Notes: Dairy

By ingredients, this recipe is dairy-free / non-dairy, gluten-free, grain-free, nut-free, peanut-free, soy-free, and vegetarian. If you confuse eggs with dairy, youre not alone! See this post: Are Eggs Dairy?

Sugar Options? If you prefer to use less-processed sugars in your baking, coconut sugar should work in place of the brown sugar, but I would run it through a spice grinder to powder it a bit, since coconut sugar doesnt always melt into baked goods. These gluten-free brownies would be a touch less sweet with coconut sugar, but still rich and fudgy.

Fluffy Gluten Free Waffles

These fluffy gluten free waffles are magic. They are all things a waffle should be: lightly sweet, tender and fluffy on the inside, and crispy on the outside. But instead of refined flour and sugar, these waffles have a simple, whole food base: almond flour and eggs. Magic, right?

Almond flour is typically very dense: however, the magic here is whipping egg whites into a frothy foam thats folded into the batter. What results is a lightly fluffy dream, not what you would expect of almond flour at all!

Making A Breakfast Casserole In The Oven:

There are a few different methods when it comes to making a breakfast casserole. Most people choose between tater tots, hash browns, or regular potatoes for the base of the casserole.

I chose to keep it healthier with whole-foods and used diced russet potatoes rather than frozen bagged tots. The casserole needs to be baked in two steps, potatoes first, then the egg, cheese, and veggie mixture second. This way you end up with perfectly tender potatoes and a light and airy egg layer.

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  • Toss the potatoes with olive oil, salt, pepper, and dried parsley and spread evenly in a baking dish.
  • Bake the potatoes for 30 minutes then remove from the oven.
  • Combine the remaining ingredients in a bowl and pour over the baked potatoes and give a quick stir.
  • Bake for 15 minutes in the oven, or until the middle of the casserole is firm and feels spongy to the touch.
  • This is such an easy, versatile meal that is packed with protein, healthy fats, vitamins, minerals, and flavour! I also love that breakfast casseroles are great for leftovers .

Use the base of this recipe and change up the vegetables and herbs every time you make it for extra variety. You can also try shredded hash browns in place of the cubed potatoes for a different texture.

Next time I plan to swap out the bell pepper and green onion for mushrooms and turkey bacon, then Ill use my favourite dairy-free cashew cheese made by a local maker.

    Tolerance Of Pure Oats

If you have celiac or gluten sensitivity, you may experience a resolution of symptoms when you adhere to a gluten-free diet, which usually permits the use of pure oats. In 2007 the Canadian Celiac Association issued a statement promoting the consumption of contaminant-free oat products by people with celiac disease. Published in the 2007 “Canadian Journal of Gastroenterology,” the organization established upper limits for daily oat consumption, recommending that adults and children consume not more than, respectively, 70 grams and 25 grams.

What Meat Do I Use And Can I Make It Meatless & Vegan

Weve used Jimmy Dean regular sausage, as well as Johnsonville, Falls Brand and Great Value. We havent had a problem with any of them, as according to their package theyre all pork sausage and spices for the most part. Be sure to find a brand you feel comfortable with.

If you need these to be vegan, there are a decent amount of vegan meat crumbles you could use. You could also omit the meat and the potatoes and vegan eggs would be filling too! You could always add beans if you need more texture as well.

If you need another vegan option, try these Vegan Fajitas by my friend Texanerin.
