Yes, Most of the non-flavored peanut butter is vegan as you dont find animal-derived ingredients in them. Yet, they include ingredients that are controversial for strict vegans, as we have explained how sugar, palm oil, flavorings, and food colors are usually processed.

The strict vegans can opt for products like 305 Organic, Peanut Butter & Co., Spread the Love as these are organically processed. On the other hand, any kind of flavored peanut butter like honey, chocolate, or omega-3 is absolutely not vegan. You can use cocoa butter along with peanut butter to have most smoother liquid. Gluten Free Peanut Butter Cookies Without Peanut Butter

If you cant have peanuts, you can have actual gf peanut butter cookies. But you can still have gluten free nut butter cookies.

This recipe works well with no-stir almond butter. I really love Barney Butter brandbut it is ridiculously expensive.

Just like it wont work with the drip-off-the-spoon peanut butter, the recipe wont work with that sort of almond butter.

I do not recommend trying this recipe with Sunbutter, which is by its nature very drippy.

It is super easy to make vegan puffed rice bars. Simply ensure that the dark chocolate you are using is vegan-friendly. Most dark chocolate should be a blend of cocoa solids and sugar to some extent but some cheaper brands include ingredients such as milk solids, or butter oil so always double-check.

Top Tips For The Best Chocolate Peanut Butter Puffed Rice Bars

  • Warm the knife blade before slicing as this will prevent the chocolate layer from crumbling into pieces and give you clean-cut bars.
  • These chocolate peanut butter puffed rice bars must be stored in the fridge as they can melt quickly. Ideally, do not refrigerate for longer than 1 week as the cereals will begin to soften and lose the signature crispy texture.
  • They can also be frozen and will take around 1 hour to thaw at room temperature.

Can I Freeze These Cookies

To retain freshness it is ideal to make the dough up until the baking stage, already pressed with the fork and dipped in sugar.

After they are pressed, then place the baking sheet into the freezer and let the prepared cookie dough freeze.

Once the peanut butter cookie dough is frozen through, then you can just pop them off the cookie sheet and into a gallon freezer bag for storage.

When you are ready to bake these cookies, you dont even have to let them thaw

While the oven is pre-heating to 325°F , just arrange the desired amount of cookies on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake as instructed in the recipe.
