Up Charge For Almond Milk
Im not able to drink coffee with regular milk so I requested almond milk. I got charged 50 cents extra because of my milk choice. It isnt right because of my allergies, that I have to pay extra.
I am lactose intolerant and therefore ordered a hot midnight coffee with oatmilk and mocha swirl. Unfortunately I had a bad reaction within hours of consuming it which lasted into the next day. It was horrible. I believe perhaps my order wasnt prepared as I asked for it.

What Will You Need
The Red Cross recommends having at least 3 days of non-perishable food items for as many people you have in your household. FEMA and the CDC recommend 2 weeks worth of food and water for every family member. That sounds crazy daunting but it can be done.
Ive put together a list of some of the items we personally have stocked up on in case of an emergency. If you want specific numbers of some of the food items you should have on hand , Sally Strackbeins Emergency Kitchen has a good list to start with. Her list covers 2 people.
I hope you find this emergency food supply list helpful. I know Ill personally be using it as a resource.
The majority of this list includes shel-stable foods that are good for any type of emergency that would include power outages. Towards the end of this list, Ive included non shelf-stable items that should be refrigerated. These are great for other types of emergencies when you still have use of a working refrigerator but may not be able to get to the store.

Wondering If Dunkin Donuts Is Gluten
Celiac.com 07/22/2021 We get a lot of questions from celiac community members wondering if certain brands and products are gluten-free. One question we see a lot is about donuts. Not just donuts, but Dunkin Donuts. Specifically, is Dunkin Donuts gluten-free?
The short answer is no. None of the food products at Dunkin Donuts are gluten-free at this time. The perpetually popular donut and coffee chain did try to develop some gluten-free products, including a gluten-free Cinnamon Sugar Donut and Blueberry Muffin, but abandoned that effort in 2014. Even their breakfast bowls dont claim to be gluten-free.

We used allulose for the donuts because that is the sweetener that we find gives the best texture and taste to low carb and gluten-free baked goods.
Bocca Sweet will work just as well as allulose in this recipe.
If you use erythritol, be sure to keep the donuts stored covered at room temperature.

Do You Need To Buy Organic
If you feel more comfortable and your budget allows, feel free to buy organic. If you can afford conventional and want to plan ahead, thats absolutely fine. We all need to do the best we can do in the situations we are in and never feel pressured to buy something we cant afford.
I was able to get organic for the particular stock up that you will see in the video below, but thats only because our source for dry goods through our coop only does organic.
Disclaimer.we believe food storage is just a small part of long-term preparedness. Gardening, knowing how to can, being able to live without electricity, having non-food itemsall of those things are just as important in a well-rounded long-term plan.

If You Cant Find It Grind It
That doesnt just apply to poorly driving a vehicle with a manual transmission.
Gluten-free specialty products are pricey, but they dont have to be.
By purchasing grains that are not yet ground, you get several benefits. First, the shelf-life is often longer. Secondly, you can save a fortune from the cost of the specialty flours by grinding them yourself. I have both an electric grinder and an off-grid, manual grinder. If you are committed to gluten-free eating, youll recoup your grinder investment fairly quickly. Dont skimp on quality grinding grains is tough work. The WonderMill is a good choice because it comes with a lifetime warranty.
It doesnt save you money if you must continuously replace flimsy grinders. On that same note, from someone who learned the hard way: dont try to use your blender or food processor for this unless it is specifically rated to grind grains, like this attachment for your Kitchen-Aid Mixer.
You Cant Buy Processed Gluten
The issue is, everyone wants to eat the same diet theyve always eaten, just without the wheat. And that wont work, at least not healthfully.
First of all, gluten-free products are highly processed. In order to give people the familiar textures, lots of additives are necessary to simulate the airiness that results when wheat gluten is combined with a leavening agent. Heres an ingredients list from a common gluten-free white bread.
TAPIOCA & POTATO STARCH, BROWN RICE FLOUR, MODIFIED TAPIOCA STARCH, WATER, NON-GMO VEGETABLE OIL , EGG WHITES, TAPIOCA MALTODEXTRIN, EVAPORATED CANE JUICE, TAPIOCA SYRUP, YEAST, XANTHAN GUM, SALT, BAKING POWDER , CULTURED CORN SYRUP SOLIDS , ENZYMES.
While this list of ingredients isnt as bad as the ingredients in a lot of conventional breads, you will still end up with a highly processed, low nutrition food item.
If you make it yourself, its cheaper, but the list of ingredients that you need to make a loaf of homemade bread sans the wheat is lengthy, daunting, and still somewhat expensive. Here are the ingredients for one recipe that I found:
- white rice flour
- ground ginger
- apple fiber
- egg whites, room temperature
- apple cider vinegar
- lukewarm water
This is more nutritious, but its certainly far from simple. And life is complicated enough without complicated food.
