Set aside. In mixing bowl, combine the coconut oil and warm water together and then add the dry ingredients. Mix on high for 2 minutes, this activates the yeast. It should resemble a thicker cake batter.
    • 2Pour batter into prepared pan and cover with a tea towel. Turn OFF the oven and set the covered bread in the warm oven to rise. Carefully shut the oven door. The bread will take about 30 min. to rise to just below the top of the pan. Take the bread out carefully and set aside. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
    • 3Place bread in preheated oven and bake 45-55 minutes. After the first 10-15 minutes, tent tinfoil over the bread for the remainder of the baking time to prevent the crust from darkening too much.Test the bread with a toothpick. After youve removed the bread from the oven, immediately rub the top with butter . Remove loaf from the pan to a wire rack to cool.
    • 4Let cool completely before cutting. This makes a big difference on how well it will slice and stay together.

What Kind Of Yeast Do I Use To Make A Vegan Bread Recipe

Here are the facts. If you dont bake very often, yeast can be sort of confusing. Look at the shelf at the grocery store there are SO many different types! As a result, some are better for baking pizza dough and others are best for bread. It gets even more confusing when you realize that there are actually just three types of yeast. Allow me to explain

There are three types of yeast two are dry yeast and then there is cake yeast, which is a wet yeast. Well discuss that another day. Lets focus on the types of dry yeast you can use to make vegan bread.

    • Regular Yeast
    • Instant Yeast Other names for this include quick-rise, rapid-rise, and bread machine yeast,

You can use either type of yeast to bake bread with, but each type has advantages.

Baking with active dry yeast often requires two proofing sessions, meaning, the yeast has to be activated and then again when the bread rises before baking. Personally, I like to let the bread rise right in the pan and skip second rise, going straight to baking.

Also, active yeast has a longer shelf life than instant yeast well over a year if you keep it refrigerated. This is the yeast I used for this vegan bread recipe and the bread has lasted me a good while in the fridge! LOVE IT!

Instant yeast is what many bakers choose, simply because its quicker to make things with. If you make vegan bread with instant yeast, it only requires a single rise . As a result, you get to enjoy that warm bread sooner!

    Best Healthy Banana Bread Recipe

There are few truly Vegan gluten free bread products on the market, and they are not created equal. It seems like everyone has gluten free products that include breads, but the desired texture and taste fall short. In an effort to get products on the market that are gluten free, many companies have used less than nutritional ingredients in their breads. This is done in an effort to replace some of the elasticity you get when gluten is used in bread, providing the soft and chewy texture. Other companies have used ingredients that are not nutritious for you, thereby minimizing the overall nutritional value of their breads.

Locate a Store near you to get Food for Life Sprouted for Life Vegan gluten free breads and get started enjoying a truly Vegan and completely gluten free bread that tastes great, has great texture, and overall has unsurpassed nutrition.

As long as you use a vegan butter that is also soy free , then this recipe, by ingredient listing, is top-8-free and very allergy friendly.

    A Note About The Dough

This dough is wet and sticky. After youve beaten it, it will look almost like buttercream frosting. There is no way you could knead this dough without having to add TUNS of extra flour, which would inevitably ruin the breads texture.

After the first rise, brush a spatula with oil or coat it with cooking spray. Youll fold the dough gently using the spatula and pour it into a prepared loaf pan. It wont pour into the pan like a cake batter, youll need to use your oiled spatula to guide it into the pan. Then you can use your spatula to smooth the top. You may need to re-oil your spatula a few times during this process.

Cover the dough and let is go through its second rise. When youre ready to bake it, you can sprinkle on some extra flour to the get the artisan bread look.

Mixing The Ingredients And Kneading The Dough

First, mix the yeast and sugar with some warm water to activate the yeast. After 5 10 minutes, it will become bubbly and frothy, which means that the yeast is active. If theres no bubbles and/or foam formation, youll know that its inactive and you should open a new yeast package.

Next up, prepare the psyllium gel by mixing the psyllium husk with some water. The gel will begin to form within seconds.

  • Add the potato starch, brown rice flour, buckwheat flour,
  • and salt to a bowl,
  • and mix thoroughly to combine.
  • Make a well in the middle and add the yeast mixture,
  • the psyllium gel, and
  • the apple cider vinegar.
  • Now, we come to the mixing and kneading stage theres really no right or wrong way to knead gluten free bread, as you dont have to go though the stretching motions youd typically use to build up the elasticity in a gluten-containing wheat bread.

Once the wet and the dry ingredients are combined, I tend to squeeze the dough through my fingers until smooth and homogeneous. After a few minutes youll notice the dough coming away from the sides and it will be easy to form it into a rough ball.

While it wont have the same super-stretchy elasticity of a gluten-containing wheat dough, theres enough elasticity there that you can stretch portions of it without them breaking off.

Once you complete one 360 degree rotation of the dough, you should be left with a ball of dough. Flip it seam side down and rotate in place to seal the seams.

    Starting My Sourdough Diary Again

I am not going to lie, I felt devastated when I found out that I am gluten intolerance. People who know me know that I live on bread and not being able to consume bread really makes me sad. Fortunately, since I used to sell gluten-free sourdough bread a few years back, I guess its time to start making them for myself again.

I had a pretty good recipe I used for a long time while I owned that gluten-free bakery. However, there are always things that I would like to improve. But due to the lack of time and I am busy baking sourdough bread to fulfill the orders, I didnt really pursue it.

Soft Gluten Free Vegan Bread Recipe

A couple of years ago, I posted a Soft Gluten Free Sandwich Bread Recipe that still gets a lot of attention. I hear from hundreds of people every month who love it & at least as many begging me to create a Vegan version of it. It wasnt until we discovered my son was also allergic to eggs that I started taking the Egg Free options very seriously.

So, I experimented with Chia Seeds, Flax Seeds, Psyllium Husks, Applesauce, Bananas, Egg Replacers, and several combinations of Baking Powders & Acids But nothing I tried could truly duplicate a good loaf of bread. Discouraged, I set the idea aside for a while and stuck to making gluten free flatbreads& hot dog buns Until Recently

Remember my post a couple months ago about Aquafaba being used in place of eggs to make Meringue?? Well, I couldnt shake the idea that I could use this somehow for bread, so I tried, and tweaked, and tried again and it worked beautifully! Ive made at least 20 batches with this recipe and it turns out soft & delicious every single time. So, now its time to share it with you! =)
