How To Make Vegan Apple Crumble

Start by preheating your oven and get a small to medium-sized baking dish. Wash and chop your apples, then add them with the sliced banana and chopped dates to a bowl.

Grab all of the cozy spices and top your fruity filling, mix everything with a spoon and transfer it into your prepared baking dish. Bake for around 10 minutes, just until the apples have turned soft and begun to bubble a bit.

In the meantime, create your simple oat crumble topping by combining rolled oats, sugar-free applesauce, vanilla extract and a pinch of salt in the same bowl youve just used for your apple filling.

You can add some oat flour for a slightly different texture if you like or 1-2 tablespoons of maple syrup for extra sweetness.

Once the apple and banana mixture becomes soft and fragrant, take it out of the oven and top it evenly with the oat crumble topping. Back into the oven for another 15-20 minutes until your crumble has become slightly golden and crispy!

Make sure to let your homemade vegan crumble sit for around 5-10 minutes before serving warm on its own or with some vegan ice cream.

This is a simple recipe that can be made in a food processor or using a strong blender. Feel free to use this crust or the crust of your choice in this recipe.

Here is what you will need to make the crust.

Nuts 1 ½ cups, unsweetened cocoa powder 2 tablespoons, and dates ½ cup pitted . Process these ingredients until you get a fine to crumb-like texture and then press it into a round pie dish or springform pan. Freeze this while you work to allow it to firm up.

    Do Not Make Substitutes

    I designed this recipe specifically around the ingredients and amounts listed. If you make any substitutes at all, the recipe is different and I cant guarantee the results. Any small change, even if its swapping one flour for another, can cause terrible results. And definitely do not use almond flour, coconut flour or any other kind of flour expecting ideal results. All of those flours work very differently in this recipe.

    Lets go over some suggestions for this plant-based goodness. First of all, if you need to make sure that this recipe is 100% gluten-free, no traces whatsoever, look for certified gluten-free oats.
