Our gluten free pizza crust mix makes it easy to make a crispy and delicious pizza crust. Easy-to-make, this flour bakes up to two 12-inch gluten free pizzas.

Are you looking to accommodate a vegan diet? This mix makes it easy to create an egg-free variation. Just combine 2 tbsp flaxseed meal and 6 tsp of water and let stand for 1 minute, then add to the recipe just like you would with traditional eggs.

Gluten Free Pizza Dough Recipe Easy Step By Step

You know those people who say I never get sick and will assert that fact even if they are burning up with a 102 degree temperature and can barely stand? Well, Im one of those people. In all honesty, I rarely do get sick. But when I do, its usually pretty bad. Mostly because I try to ignore the fact.

I recently had bronchitis. I didnt know I had it, I just knew I was exhausted and coughing and kept having fevers which was really annoying and keeping me from getting as much work done as I usually do.

Finally, I went to the doctor and he told me that either I go down now and get some rest or I would go down later in the hospital with pneumonia. So off to bed I went.

Heres what I realized after two days in bed. First of all, it is a lot more fun to stay in bed all day if youre not sick. Secondly, I realized that when it comes to being gluten free, yes some things may be more difficult but other things are easier. Way easier.

I watched a LOT of TV when I was down, after all, what else are you going to do? And I watched a lot of cooking shows. I saw two shows where pizza was being made from scratch.

To make regular gluten-filled pizza dough you have to let yeast proof, add the yeast to flour and stuff, combine it, knead the dough, let it rise, punch it down, let it rise again thats a lot of work! Not to mention, a lot of time. No wonder takeout pizza is so popular. When youre hungry for pizza, who wants to wait hours to have one?

You Mention A Pizza Stone In Your Directions I Don’t Have One

First, I highly recommend getting a pizza stone if you don’t have one. It really makes a huge difference when you make gluten-free pizza.

But no worries. If you don’t have one, simply use a heavy baking sheet.

If you don’t have a heavy baking sheet then you can use a cookie sheet. Let it preheat in the oven just as you would a pizza stone.

You can do this before you make your gluten-free pizza dough.

Pizza Oven Or Conventional Oven

I first developed this recipe using my wood-burning tabletop pizza oven, but I’ve now made it just as many times in the conventional oven. It works great in either!

In a wood-burning pizza oven, the gluten-free pizza crust turns out more browned on top with slightly larger air bubbles. The wood also helps flavor the crust. I’ve written the instructions for a conventional oven because that’s probably what most people have. To use a pizza oven, reduce the baking time according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

In a conventional oven, I recommend using a pizza stone for the best results, but if you dont have a pizza stone, you can use a large cast-iron skillet or dark baking sheet. Your crust may be a bit less crispy using the baking sheet. Whatever you use, have it in the oven while preheating.

Easy Gluten Free Pizza Dough

Simple Mills Almond Flour, Cauliflower Pizza Dough Mix ...
  • 2 TBSP Olive Oil
  • Water, up to ¼ cup as needed
  • Cornmeal for dusting pan

Combine the water, yeast and honey and allow to sit for 5 minutes or until active and bubbly. While waiting, prepare the egg replacer according to package directions.

In a large bowl of a stand up mixer, combine the millet flour, rice flour, xanthan gum, baking powder and salt. Whisk to combine. Next add the egg replacer , olive oil and yeast mixture. Blend on medium using a dough hook. Add additional water as needed starting with a tablespoon at a time. Knead in your mixer for 5 minutes.

Place dough in an oiled bowl and cover with a towel. If you want to bake your pizzas later, place the dough in the fridge for a slow rise. If you are baking this sooner, either leave in a warm draft free place in your kitchen or place in your oven with the light on. Allow to rise until doubled in size. This will take 1 to 2 hours depending on how warm your area is. The oven only takes about an hour.

When ready to bake, preheat your oven to 450°. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lightley dust your parchment paper with cornmeal. Divide the dough into 2 even pieces. Roll the dough into a ball, then with wet hands flatten the dough into the shape you desire. Place in the dough in the preheated oven for 5 minutes. Top as you like and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes or until your cheese is browned and bubbly and your crust is golden brown.

Next time, try cooking it for less time and/or rolling it slightly thicker.

Oil Your Baking Surfaces

  • Cooking spray for your baking dish. I use and recommend Chosen Foods Avocado Oil Spray because it is propellant free and has a smoke point of 500 degrees, which is great for high heat cooking, baking and frying. I love using this for roasting veggies!
  • A 2 quart baking dish, something that I also recommend and use very frequently.
  • Gluten Free 1:1 Replacer Four. I like the Bobs Red Mill version, as well as Trader Joes product.
  • I assume that you have a whisk already. If not, this can come in handy for mixing, but a fork can also suffice.
