Brown sugar is made with granulated sugar and molasses. Molasses is added to white sugar in order to add the richness and depth of flavor into this ingredient.

Why This Recipe Is So Good

This is one recipe that I refused to quit testing until I thought it was justperfect. I made several batches before this ding-ding-ding winner, and none were just right beforehand.I wanted these paleo brownies to be fudgy but not overly dense. These gluten free brownies needed them to have a crackly top, which seemed essentially impossible to eke out of a gluten free brownie. But, hey, spoiler alert: its absolutely possible! I needed them to have chewy edges with super rich middle pieces. And lastly, they needed to be fully brownies, not just a shorter or slightly denser cake.

They needed to be just as good as a regular, ol brownie that youd find at bakery, not good for being paleo or good for being gluten free. Verdict: this recipe absolutely smashed that requirement.

I previewed this recipe on my right when I made them, and my followers absolutely freaked out! I even gave away a sneak peek of the recipe to dozens of people, we were all so excited about these paleo brownies.

What Do You Put On Top Of Brownies

So there you have it, friends! A simple recipe for healthy brownies that will blow you away with their fudgy texture and intense chocolate flavour. In one word: bliss.

Grain Free Sugar Free Healthy Brownies Boom

My mom, who is a natural in the kitchen, worked with me on these. She suggested less in more, and eggs +coconut oil = moist and fudgey. Oh yeah. Also, dates are the perfect sweetener, Just 8 simple ingredients in a food processor and youve got yourself dessert. Healthy, tasty dessert.

These are truly delicious. If anything, I would say the flavor is a little richer, in a fancy-dessert-sort-of-way. But you would never in a million years guess that these brownies have NO added sugar, no flour, no butter, and no fake anything. They definitely exceeded my expectations.

When the sugar fast is over, Ill continue to make these. I hope you will too!

    Different Types Of Sugar

There are mainly three types of sugar that we have mentioned below in detail:

  • Raw Sugar When the sugarcane juice is extracted and is left unrefined, raw sugar is obtained. The quantity of molasses is high in raw sugar due to the natural additives.

This type of sugar contains no minerals or vitamins. This is because raw sugar loses its nutritional value in the process of changing to white sugar. Consumption of excess white sugar can be hazardous for your health.

  • Brown Sugar Brown sugar is obtained from white sugar when mixed with molasses. It is usually seen that brown sugar comes in two varieties: light brown sugar and dark brown sugar. Photo by John Cutting/Unsplash

The quantity of molasses being added in the process defines its color. Like white sugar, brown sugar also lacks nutritional value.

  • So, Is brown sugar gluten free? When you look close to sugar manufacturing, you can notice that manufacturers leave no possibility for sugars to be glutinous.

In fact, some of the organizations explicitly claim that their product is gluten-free. To give a few examples:

    • Wheatsome sweeteners claim that their product is prepared and bundled in a gluten-free climate.
    • Sugar in Raw claims on its FAQ page that its product contains no gluten, nor does it come into contact with the glutinous item.
    • Domino Sugar Product expresses on its FAQ page that None of our sugars contain gluten.

How To Make Keto Brownies Using Almond Flour

So, the process of making these almond flour brownies is super simple. And if you ever made brownies before, it will be a breeze. But even if this is your first time, you’ll still find it to be very easy.

Now get out all of the ingredients, and let’s get baking!

Step 1: Making the Brownie Batter

First thins first, pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit .

Now the butter and chocolate chips to a small bowl and melt them in the microwave in 2, 1-minute increments. You’ll want to make sure to take it out and give it a stir after 1 minute, then microwave again until the chocolate and butter is completely melted.

Next, whisk the melted butter and chocolate chips until a chocolate sauce forms. Then when it does, add the almond flour, erythritol, cocoa powder, protein powder, and salt to the bowl and mix until a crumbly consistency forms.

Once it does, add and mix 1 egg at a time until all 4 eggs are incorporated into the ingredients and a brownie batter forms.

    Step 2: Baking the Brownies

Now at this point, line an 8×8 dish with parchment paper and coat it with baking spray. Then add the batter to the dish, and evenly spread it out with a rubber spatula. And if you want, add some chopped walnuts on top.

Next bake the brownies for around 25 minutes. You’ll know they are done when you can insert a toothpick into the center of the dish, and brownie residue is stuck to it. It’s always better to slightly undercook the brownies if you want really fudgy brownies.

The Best Gluten And Sugar Free Brownies

Guys, I worked really hard on this one. There was a spreadsheet. Literally.

I really dislike when food bloggers call lots of their recipes the best. And I appreciate that this may not be the best for absolutely everybody, because everyone is different.

But seriously, I worked very hard and tested these A LOT to make sure I earned the title I gave this recipe.

    Because these brownies

    YUM.

Fudgy, rich, super chocolate-y, with oozy chocolate chips or a subtle walnut crunch. Like eating a soft fudgy cookie and loving every minute.

AndANDgluten and sugar free . Well, kind of. Its up to you. They are equally delicious both ways, but if you want a slightly more cake-y authentic brownie, you may want to go with the low sugar option to use half xylitol-half coconut sugar instead of pure xylitol. This is also a good option for anyone who is only ok with xylitol in smaller doses. It gives you a total of about 1 teaspoon of added sugar per brownie, which is pretty amazing for a brownie, given that your average coffee shop or shop-bought brownie has over 7 teaspoons !

So whichever way you choose to make it, you will end up with a healthier, but just as tasty brownie. THE best. Im not kidding. Please refer to the spreadsheet if you think I am. In fact, they are better than any brownie Ive ever baked, regardless of sugar, gluten or anything else content.

Which is a pretty big win in my eyes, sugar free or low sugar, dairy free or not!

    Is All Brown Sugar Gluten

Depending on which brand you buy, the brown sugar packaging may not be labeled as gluten-free. But, dont worry! All brown sugar is completely safe for anyone with gluten intolerances or allergies to consume.

In the home, cross-contamination can be sometimes easily forgotten about. If youve got gluten intolerances or allergies, its important to be wary of what exactly youre using. If youve just used a utensil for a product containing gluten, or even the container that its in,

you need to know the risk of gluten traces. To prevent cross-contamination, thoroughly wash your hands and the utensil/container before diving into the sugar contents.

How To Make These Fudgy Chocolate Brownies

In a mixing bowl, cream together butter, sugar and vanilla for about 2 minutes.

Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Set aside.

In another bowl, whisk almond flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt and chocolate chips. Mix until all chocolate chips are mixed throughout.

Slowly add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients. Mix until fully combined.

    See how easy these are?

Just pour the batter into the greased pan and bake. BOOM!

Low carb, sugar free, grain free, gluten free chocolatey deliciousness.

You don’t even need an electric mixer to make these. There’s nothing that good old hand stirring with a big wooden spoon can handle.

You might get in a little exercise too and yes, I totally count that for my daily workout.

Bake for 18 to 20 minutes until the center is set.

The texture is perfect, they aren’t too crumbly and do not fall apart. Isn’t that annoying?

I mean, don’t get me wrong I will eat all the crumbs, but I just don’t like them to be too messy. And I pinky promise, these are not.

Perfectly fudgy inside and crispy on top and the edges. Don’t you just love those crispy corners or edges?

I do. And I always pick a corner first, without fail.

    How perfect do these look?

    Add A Tablespoon Of Milk

    Fudgy Brownies

The next trick for this gluten-free cookie recipe is to add a tablespoon of milk. This helps to compensate for the liquid that evaporates from the butter during the browning process. It also helps the cookies get a golden color and prevents grittiness.

Gluten-free flour needs a little extra liquid for best results so you dont have chalky cookies.

    • Eggs: youll need 2 eggs to help the brownies bake up properly.
    • Cocoa powder: be sure to use a high quality unsweetened cocoa powder for the ultimate fudgy flavor. Cacao powder will also work well.

    • Chocolate: I love to mix chocolate chips into the batter and top the brownies with a chocolate drizzle! For the drizzle, youll need a little coconut oil.

Are Brownies Meant To Be Gooey

While I personally prefer my brownies to be fudgy, bordering on gooey, brownies can range in texture from being almost cake-like all the way to super gooey. Where they fall on this texture scale will depend on how long you bake them for, and on whether or not you add any raising agents.

To make cake-like brownies, add about 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder, and bake them for a longer time. In the toothpick test, youre looking for a clean toothpick with only a few crumbs attached.

To make super gooey brownies, dont add any raising agents, and bake them for a shorter period of time. In the toothpick test, youre looking for a toothpick with many moist crumbs and even half-baked batter attached.

How To Cut Carrots For Glazed Carrots

I cut the carrots into larger sticks, but they can also be cut into thick slices. For easy preparation, the carrots can be cut a day or so ahead of time and kept in the refrigerator until you need them.

Or, you can use baby carrots bought in a bag. The important part is to make sure all the carrots are equal in size for even cooking. Baby carrots or larger sticks will take longer to cook through in comparison to smaller slices.

    Pro Tip For Measuring Gluten

Best Keto Brownies Ever (Sugar-free, Gluten-free Brownies) | BASICKELI

The best way to measure gluten-free flour is the spoon & level method. Using a spoon, scoop the flour into the measuring cup. After youve spooned the flour into the measuring cup, use the back of a knife to level off the top of the measuring cup.

Please do not scoop the flour out of the bag with your measuring cup. If you do you could get more flour than the recipe calls for.

How To Make Gluten Free Brownies With Dates

The only sweetener needed for this brownie recipe is dates. Start by soaking 12 ounces of pitted dates in just boiled water for 15 minutes so they can soften up. Add the soft dates to a food processor with 1/4 cup of water and puree until smooth. Next, add 4 eggs to the machine, one at a time.

To make this brownie recipe gluten free, we used Bobs red mill paleo baking flour mix. Add flour to the food processor along with the coconut oil, cocoa powder, vanilla, salt, and baking powder. The brownies are also dairy free since we are using coconut oil.

Pour the batter into a prepared baking dish and dont forget to add some chocolate chips on top. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes at 350 degrees F or until a toothpick comes out clean.

    How To Store Brown Sugar

Regardless of the fact that brown sugar does not spoil, producers advise utilizing it within six months of opening the package.

However, properly preserving brown sugar might be difficult. Because most kinds of brown sugar are sticky, they cluster together and become exceedingly hard when exposed to air.

Brown sugar should not be refrigerated. However, if you are not expecting to consume the brown sugar right away, it is best to freeze it.

Make sure the sugar is frozen in an airtight bag. When its time to use the brown sugar, defrost it and remove the clumps with a fork.

If ice crystals have developed in the sugar, swirl it while it thaws to prevent moisture pockets from affecting the sugar.

It can stay for 18 to 24 months in the pantry when properly preserved. You should store brown sugar in an airtight glass container.

If it has solidified, you should soften it before using it in recipes. Softening it restores moisture to the sugar, making it easier to measure and use.
