Recipe Ingredients For These Low Carb Blondies

These blondies only require seven simple, healthy ingredients that you most likely have in your pantry already, especially if you’ve made any of my other recipes. If not these ingredients are easily found in most grocery stores.

As well as only needing a few ingredients, these babies are so easy to prepare. You literally mix together and put the batter into a prepared baking pan, hence the name of these, One Bowl Blondies.

That’s the way I like my dessert, simple to make, clean ingredients and crazy delicious.

  • Almond flour – I use the super fine almond flour in all of my baked goods because it lends the lightest, ideal texture, especially in gluten free desserts.
  • Coconut Flour – Coconut flour is light, naturally sugar free and low in carbs which makes it extremely versatile for low carb baking. I always use this coconut flour for my baking. I love baking with both almond and coconut flour for the perfect texture.
  • Monk fruit – I used the granular form of Monk Fruit for this recipe. The brand I use all the time is this one. You can also substitute with the sugar free alternative of your choice.
  • Eggs
  • Butter
  • Sugar free chocolate chips – I use Lily’s Chocolate Chips that are sugar free and sweetened only with stevia and erythritol. You can use whatever you’d like in here.
  • Sugar free Butterscotch chips – I put these at optional because I am aware they aren’t as easy to find as the plain chocolate chips. I do think they add a fun little molasses flavor to these blondies.

Panna Cotta With Mango Gelee

It is a gluten free diabetic dessert inspired by Italian cuisine. This mango custard is served chilled after supper on a warm summer night. Honey is a natural sweetener that substitutes raw or refined sugar in this gluten free sugar free recipe. It adds sweetness to any dish without compromising on its taste.

  • lemon wedges optional

  • In a small bowl mix 3 teaspoons of gelatin and 3 tablespoons of cold water until gelatin absorbs water and turns soft.
  • Combine 1/2cup milk with 4 tablespoons honey and warm slightly. Remove from heat and add gelatin whisk until melted. Cool slightly. Now whisk in the yogurt, vanilla and remaining milk.
  • Pour this mixture equally into dessert glasses and allow it to set. Save half the quantity of this mixture for later use.
  • Meanwhile repeat the process of making softened gelatin with remaining quantities of water and gelatin.
  • Blend mangoes, lime juice, remaining honey and 1/4 cup water until smooth. Transfer this mix into a saucepan and warm. Remove from heat and add softened gelatin. Whisk until gelatin melts.
  • Divide the mango mixture equally and pour on top of the yogurt-gelatin mixture in the glasses. Chill for around 45 min or till the mix sets nicely.
  • Whisk the previously saved yogurt mix vigorously until smooth. Top it on the mango layer in each glass and chill until the final layer is set.
  • Garnish with lemon wedges and serve.

Sugar Free Flourless Keto Peanut Butter Cookies

You asked I delivered.

When I first shared these peanut butter crunch bars, many of you mentioned how they reminded you of homemade childhood treats. This was once again lamented when these 3-ingredient corn flake crunch bars were shared. Back in 2014, I shared the classic 3 Ingredient grain free peanut butter cookie recipe Sugar, peanut butter, and an egg.

Now? Were giving it a sugar free, keto, Paleo AND Allergen-friendly makeover, along with a tested vegan option using no eggs.

Readers on had mentioned that theyve often interchanged the sugar for Splenda or aspartame, two sugar substitutes I dont usually use. Personally, when I test recipes to be completely sugar free or needing a granulated sweetener, I almost always use monk fruit sweetener.

For those who dont know what monk fruit sweetener is, its a natural, stevia blend. It looks and feels like sugar, and the best part? It does NOT leave you with a bitter aftertaste, something which many stevia blends possess. They also bake VERY well.

What Makes These Betty Crocker Gluten

Unfortunately, not everyone can have gluten. Be it an allergic, intolerance, or simply personal preference, there is a big need for delicious gluten-free cookie recipes. So, we have developed our own twist that is equally delicious and quick.

These Betty Crocker gluten-free sugar cookies are made using the Betty Crocker gluten-free yellow cake mix. Naturally, a cookie has a completely different texture from a cake. So, we have made some alterations to the box instructions.

First, we will be using a lot more butter! This will make the gluten-free flour less crumbly and make the cookie a lot more moist and soft, not hard and chewy.

Then, we also reduced the number of eggs to prevent the cookies from rising too much. And, the eggs also create a more dense texture, which we dont want for these cookies.

And finally, to make authentic Betty Crocker gluten-free sugar cookies, we also used colored sugar to decorate them. This way you can make the cookies for themed occasions and events.

So, lets have a look at how to make these simple easy gluten-free sugar cookies using a Betty Crocker cake mix.

Why Avoid Refined Sugar

Type I, or insulin-dependent, diabetes occurs at an estimated rate of 5 to 10 percent in the celiac population compared to 0.5 percent in the general population. Researchers have determined that there is a causal genetic link between the two diseases. Both are autoimmune disorders, which tend to occur in pairs or clusters.

Controlling Type I diabetes on a gluten-free diet poses particular challenges. Many processed gluten-free foods have a higher amount of added sugar and starch to help improve taste and compensate for the absence of gluten. Both are problematic for diabetics who need to control blood sugar.

There are a myriad of other health problems that are linked to excess sugar in the diet, including obesity, metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance and hypoglycemia. More recently, studies have been published suggesting that cancer, hypertension and heart disease are linked to excess sugar.

Candida, a yeast overgrowth, is another condition that requires avoiding refined sugar. Hashimotos Disease and Lyme Disease are often improved with a dietary decrease in sugar intake. Inflammation in the body can be caused by sugars high glycemic index, a system representing how quickly and how high a food can increase blood sugar levels, and the resulting insulin response. The higher the number is on the glycemic index, the more severely blood sugar rises.

How To Live The Sweet Life Without Refined Sugar

Easy, Gluten Free Sugar Cookie Recipe

What does it mean to eat a sugar-free, gluten-free diet? Being sugar free is a relatively new concept, and how the diet works in each persons life is unique.

There are natural sugars in fruits and vegetables, and our bodies actually need certain sugars to survive. However, eliminating or greatly reducing refined sugars can significantly benefit health and longevity.

Generally speaking, refined sugar includes processed white sugar made from sugarcane or sugar beets. It also includes brown sugar, which is white sugar coated with molasses. Because refined sugar is highly processed, our bodies absorb and process it almost immediately. When too much sugar is consumed, we experience a sugar high and soon after comes the blood sugar crash.

Blueberry And Jersey Milk Ice Cream Cake

This ice-cream cake recipe by Phoebe Wood is a do-gooder dessert made with beautifully sweet blueberries and creamy jersey milk.”I love the thick, rich layer of cream that you get in a bottle of organic, unhomogenised jersey milk, and the knowledge that you are drinking something in its natural state.”

Low Carb Peanut Butter Cookies

The traditional recipe is infamous for using peanut butter, and if that is no issue for you, keep it the same. However, if you follow a paleo or nut free lifestyle, check out these tested subs. Almond butter or smooth cashew butter are the best swaps for it, especially if you get the salted, drippy kind. To keep it nut-free, smooth sunflower seed butter or creamy soy nut butter can be used. Please note, if you use sunflower seed butter, your cookies will have an odd shade of green.

Finally, an egg is the final magically ingredient, but my vegan friends need an option too. After testing out flaxseeds, energy-G egg replacer and even a formed chia egg, I found them to either be too crumbly, too wet or just a big puddle of peanut butter and sugar. I found this recipe which mentioned using ground chia seedsand was stoked to see it work. It also provided a much better and chewier texture.

These arent your grandmas classic 3 ingredient peanut butter cookies but ones which my sugar-free, paleo and vegan readers can now enjoy. Three ingredients and 20 minutes from prep to dunking in milk.

Healthy Fats For Baking: Get Slim By Eating Fat

Healthy Gluten Free Sugar Free Carrot Cake

Now that weve got the sweetness and the structure aspects of baking covered, its time to tackle the fats.

Fats provide moisture and tender texture to baked goods. They give rich mouth feel to soufflés, the silky finesse to mousse and golden, flaky goodness to pie crust. But what they do in your body is even more important than what they do in the kitchen.

The fats you eat influence inflammation and metabolism. They affect how cells communicate with each other. They even affect how your genes express themselves! And when they are used at the wrong temperatures they can cause oxidative damage that can mutate cells and encourage cancer.

But using the right fats, in their appropriate temperature range, is one of the best things you can do for your health. Healthy fats can help reduce inflammation, boost brainpower, discourage wrinkles and even flip your bodys fat-storage switch off. And these are the kind of fats we rely on at Healing Gourmet.

Stock your pantry with these heat stable, REAL fats for delicious baked goods with benefits:

The fats to AVOID in your baking include hydrogenated oils/trans fats as well as fats that are high in omega-6 including: vegetable oil, corn oil, canola oil, peanut oil, grapeseed oil, and soybean oil. .

Where Sugar Is Found

Sugar is nearly everywhere, not just dessert. Food manufacturers use it to enhance the flavors of spice mixes, salad dressings, yogurts, dairy-free beverages, sodas, snack foods, soups, and even stocks and broths.

Reading labels is the key to finding out how much sugar is in a food if you are interested in cutting sugar consumption. Some words that indicate sugar on ingredient lists include evaporated cane juice, sucrose, turbinado sugar, raw sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, corn syrup solids, dehydrated cane juice and corn sweetener.

While some people choose to not consume any processed foods with sugar in the ingredient list, others find that if sugar is listed fifth or lower, the overall amount of added sugar is not large enough to cause problems.

Alternatives To Refined Sugar

There are so many different unrefined, or less-refined, alternatives to white sugar that it can be confusing. Using them in your kitchen successfully requires an understanding of each product.

Coconut palm sugar is a granulated sweetener made from the sap of the coconut tree. It has a low glycemic index of 35, which has a slower and less severe impact on blood sugar, and also contains important nutrients including potassium, magnesium, zinc and calcium. It is easier to bake with than liquid alternatives because it can generally be substituted one to one however, its flavor is more intense and similar to brown sugar. Since the flavor is stronger than white sugar, starting with 25 percent less coconut palm sugar often yields good results. Coconut palm sugar will also caramelize in the oven, so its perfect for cookies and brownies.

Liquid alternatives include honey, molasses, agave nectar, raw coconut nectar, yacon syrup, maple syrup and brown rice syrup that does not contain barley malt and is gluten free. When using a liquid sweetener, its necessary to reduce the liquid in the recipe by the amount youve added. For example, if you use 1/2 cup of honey instead of white sugar, youll need to reduce other liquid in the recipe by 1/2 cup. Its not a solid rule but instead a good starting point when testing a recipe.
