Gluten Free Bread Brands At Walmart
When you walk into a grocery store, there will usually be an aisle full of fresh bread. The smell is almost mouthwatering and was always my favorite part of going shopping. Id walk around nibbling the end a baguette as I just couldnt resist. Then the diagnosis came. The bread was, of course, an absolute no-go. But that doesnt mean there arent options available! Even in the two years since my diagnosis, the bread options for us have come on in leaps and bounds. Today were going to be taking a look at whether Walmart sells gluten-free bread, and if so what gluten-free bread brands at Walmart are available.

Does Good Gluten Free Bread Exist
People who are diagnosed with celiac disease usually have to eliminate all products that contain gluten from their diets.
Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, rye, and other cereal grains. According to some sources, gluten affects up to 20 million Americans.
There are many people who choose to be on gluten free diets for other reasons like digestive issues and weight loss.
Therefore, there is an enormous market for gluten free bread. Many people would prefer eating homemade bread or purchasing at bakeries.
However not a lot of bakeries provide wheat alternative options and a good homemade gluten free bread recipe can be hard to come by.
Unfortunately, commercial gluten free bread is often made with low-quality ingredients to save on cost.
However, there are some really great alternative brands of bread that contain no gluten ingredients that can be purchased at grocery stores.
I have included my top 3 favorites below as well as my favorite homemade gluten free recipe towards the bottom of the post!
Three Bakers Great Seed Whole Grain And 7 Seed Bread
Three Bakers Great Seed Whole Grain and 7 Seed Bread is one of the best rice-flour-based gluten-free breads.
Made with whole grain rice flour, this loaf has a limited ingredient list that contains other high quality, non-GMO-verified ingredients, including chia, flax, pumpkin, hemp, and millet seeds.
Additionally, as with all of Three Bakers products, its Great Seed Whole Grain and 7 Seed Bread is certified gluten-free by a third-party organization called the Gluten Intolerance Group .
This sandwich bread is also a good source of fiber, as well as dairy- and soy-free.
One slice provides approximately 100 calories, 2 grams of fat, 0 grams of saturated fat, 130 mg of sodium, 19 grams of carbs, 3 grams of fiber, 2 grams of sugar, and 1.5 grams of protein .
While the bread will keep for up to 5 days at room temperature, for longer periods of storage, keep separated slices in the freezer and thaw as needed.

I agree, Leslie. My partner works in pharmaceutical shipping/receiving & auditing. They rely on their suppliers to ship correct raw materials. Being a pharmaceutical company however, they do test most items prior to production They also have the luxury of being able to hold the product and test before release. But bread has a such short shelf lifeMy partner suspects that something came in mislabeled from a supplier. I HOPE that CB will be open with the cause and the steps taken to mitigate the current issue, as well as future production. Otherwise it will be difficult to regain our trust.Im also concerned about the cross contamination with other products, given that they may rely on their own status as a gf production facility. Including things such as the ventilation system.

Slow Down This Summer With Slow Cooked Sandwich Meat
If theres one thing summer brings, its a slower pace, but that doesnt necessarily mean you want to spend time cooking over the stove. The days are longer and the weather is warm, making you want to get outside and enjoy the afternoon, not stand around in the kitchen sweating over the oven. The solution to having meals cooked while youre relaxing outside is using the slow cooker! It doesnt heat up your house and theres little hands-on time the perfect win-win for summer.
Some of my favorite slow cooker recipes are meats that you can put on bread to make a sandwich for lunch and then later serve over rice for dinner. If youre new to gluten-free or if youre a longtime veteran of this lifestyle and youre looking for a tried-and-true bread for your summer sandwiches, might I suggest Canyon Bakehouses Hawaiian Sweet Bread?
Canyon Bakehouse, a certified gluten-free bread company, makes gluten-free breads including their large-slice Heritage Loaves that are non-GMO, Kosher, and free of dairy, nuts, soy, and sesame seeds. Their Hawaiian Sweet Bread is unlike any other loaf Ive tried, and it pairs perfectly with juicy pulled meats for a summer lunch.
Want proof? Give these two delicious recipes a try. One goes great on the Hawaiian Sweet Bread and the other is especially nice on the Heritage Style Bread for a two-hand kind of sandwich! Enjoy!
French Bread Pizza Made With Focaccia
My other big excitement was the focaccia bread. While nothing beats the taste of local and fresh from the oven, this focaccia was good. I actually used it as a base for pizza. The added seasonings in the focaccia made for a flavorful and healthy pizza. Each serving has 3 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber.
Snow and cold is a recurring theme here in Michigan, and my husband and I recently had a snow day again, due to over a foot of snow and frigid wind chill temperatures. So I made a simple breakfast casserole, this time with the 7 grain bread. I used the following recipe, which I conveniently found in the box for my Pampered Chef Small Oval Baker box. I did make a few tweaks from the original, adding an extra piece of bread and more turkey ham. Ive made it more than once, and find it to be amazing with their Deli Style Rye bread as well.
My husband REALLY loved this. He asked me if there were ever times that I wanted to cry because of a dish I hadnt been able to eat in a long time due to my celiac. There have been times. My husband is allergic to pork, so I dont think hes had a breakfast casserole like this in a LONG time. He was SO happy.

Why Is Gluten Free Bread So Bad
From my experience, a lot of wheat alternative bread is usually dry, crumbly, and tastes extremely bland. This might be because most brands contain flours that dont rise as well, like rice flour.
Or they might taste bland because they dont include yeast as a rising agent at all.
But no matter the reason, most wheat alternative bread is usually best kept for sandwiches and not eaten alone.
Here are some brands that I have found to be delicious and best of all, easy to find at your local grocery store.
