Our Trader Joes Food Allergy Shopping List Part 1

For me, one of the most frustrating things about food allergies is how much more time it takes just to buy groceries! Gone are the days when you can just breeze into any grocery store, buy whatever catches your eye and run back out. Now, Im always clogging up the store aisles, reading labels. We, the food allergic, need to use up precious brain space to remember things like whether sodium stearoyl lactylate or calcium lactate contain dairy.* We must use our iPhones at the store to find out whether that products natural flavor contains gluten or other allergens. My poor eyes are going bad from all this reading! But, its necessary, of course. We cant make everything that we eat from scratch you might as well chain me to the kitchen island and give me holsters for my spatulas and cookie scoops. For my mental sanity, finding safe and yummy packaged foods is a necessity.
Which is why Im providing this list of grocery items we buy at Trader Joes, along with info on ingredients and food allergy disclosures. We have multiple food allergies in my house so some of these products are for my son, some are for me, and some we can both enjoy. Hopefully this helps someone, even a little bit! Please use this as a guide only, and read the ingredient lists every time, as the ingredients and allergens may have changed. So heres my Trader Joes food allergy shopping list, part one:

How To Turn Things Around

Now is the time to save your marriage before its too late. Too many marriages end because of complacency and ego. Dont think you can get by just on auto-pilot, no matter how good a life you may be providing.
As the saying goes, marriage is like a garden it has to be watered and nurtured.
So talk to your spouse. Step up your game. Talk to a therapist. Its totally normal for couples to start taking one another for granted. Its also totally normal for couples to stop trying to woo their partner.
And many couples also stop taking care of themselves.
So get back to the gym, get back to your hobbies. Dress better, and treat your spouse like you did when you were first dating.
Its not too late, but at some point soon, it could be.

Ive only heard glowing things about this pumpkin bread mix. So much so that I took a special trip to Trader Joes only to find it sold out. However it makes the list because even my gluten-loving brother raves over it and hes not easily swayed. The flavor and texture are spot on plus its easy to make.

Organic Creamy Cashew Fiesta Dip

Have You Heard All The Rage About Trader Joes Cauliflower Gnocchi
If not, get prepared to hop on the bandwagon!
This healthy alternative to traditional wheat gnocchi is made with about 75% cauliflower- no gluten, dairy, grains or eggs! Its found in the freezer section of Trader Joes, and at under $3 a package, it quickly became one of my favorite Trader Joes gluten-free finds!
Ive used this gnocchi a zillion times, and I can honestly say that this cauliflower creation tastes just like traditional gnocchi. Pillowy soft on the inside and crispy on the outside.
Just dont follow the package instructions! Trust me on this one, mine turned to mush. Ive successfully cooked it in a stovetop skillet with some butter, on a sheet pan like this recipe, or Ive heard that the air fryer works great too!
So, whether youre in love with Trader Joes cauliflower gnocchi or just jumping on the train, this meal is the perfect way to use it. It doesnt even need to be defrosted! Just toss it with your veggies, chicken sausage, and seasonings then its ready to pop in the oven. Super simple!
Combining everything on one pan always makes for an easy weeknight meal. Be Selective When You Shop For Naturally Gluten
Outside of shopping the designated gluten-free items at Trader Joes, there are a few other worthwhile naturally gluten-free foods that we like to buy. For example, they have a great cheese selection , and the prices arent as high as they are at most grocery stores. Additionally, weve found some interesting seasonal produce that we cant find elsewhere, or that are far more expensive at other stores.
That being said, we wouldnt go out of our way for most of the foods that are naturally gluten-free at Trader Joes. Sure, if were there then we might pick something up, but its usually a better bet to buy most of our naturally gluten-free foods when we shop at other stores. Between the smaller store size and smaller selection, we usually cant find everything we need there.

What are acerolas? They are the cherry-like fruit of an evergreen shrub that grows mostly in the warmer parts of South America.
Not to be confused with cherries, they are not cherries at all, but a unique fruit that has lots and lots of vitamin C. Testing For Hidden Gluten
