Fig & Olive Crisps $399

Im really passionate about crackers and some of my very favorite non-Trader Joes ones are sold at Whole Foods and are expensive. Because Im not in the position to spend that kind of cracker money , I love these dupes from TJs. Theyre chock-full of luxurious add-ins like dried fruits and herbs.

Ancient Grain And Superseed Oatmeal

This stuff is like oatmeal but 10 times better, made for all you superhumans. It’s full of wonderful grains, giving you the protein and fiber you need to conquer your day, but without a trace of the nasty gluten protein.

#SpoonTip: I love mixing it with warm almond milk and topping it with fruit or jam.

Trader Joes Organic Frozen Broccoli Florets

Sure I love fresh broccoli, but honestly, sometimes frozen just works easily. I keep this on hand for busy nights when I may not have a side vegetable to serve. I also love to throw it into smoothies as it doesnt taste like much and adds so much nutritional value to it.

For a simple meal idea, cook up some of the cauliflower gnocchi with these broccoli florets, top it with marinara and add some hemp seeds to the top. Yum!

What Is A Norwegian Crispbread

Besides being my favorite thing to buy at Trader Joes, a Norwegian Crispbread is an all-around amazing snack. The traditional name is knekkebrød, and it is a crisp bread, or breaking bread that historically accompanied almost all Nordic breakfasts or lunches. Now its used more fluidly, but is still a great as a side for a meal or for a snack all on its own.

A Norwegian crisp bread is typically made of whole grains and seeds, and most usually made with rye flour. My version relies more on nuts and seeds to make them gluten free crackers, and Trader Joes has a gluten free Norwegian Crispbread recipe that also does this as well.

Chili Lime Chicken Burgers + Plain Turkey Burgers

Ok, youre kind of getting a bonus product favorite with this one. But I had to mention them both. The chicken lime burgers are amazing. They always seem to come out super tender. And theyre full of great flavor. They do cost a little bit more than the plain turkey burgers though. So normally, I buy the turkey burgers. And theyre great to have on hand when we have a busy day and just need an easy meal. Both are awesome and worth trying!

Yummiest Gluten Free Foods At Trader Joes

A few years ago, just as I was ready to lay into a big plate of bagels in the break room at my workplace I heard an ominous voice from over my shoulder. Gluten is evil, my friend Lauryn quipped. I turned to look at her. Youre crazy! I said, biting into a delicious cinnamon swirled bagel. But was she crazy? Later in the day, I felt tired, sluggish and couldnt concentrate. I just ignored it. Yet I almost fell asleep while trying to write my notes. Skip ahead a couple of years and I noticed that every time I ate anything with wheat, I would feel this way. I would also often have tummy troubles, feel shaky and weak, be irritable, and just feel yucky. The idea of becoming gluten-free had begun germinating in my mind.

I read the book Wheat Belly: Lose the Wheat, Lose the Weight, and Find Your Path Back to Health by cardiologist William Davis and it really opened my eyes. Although I was a bit skeptical, I decided to go gluten-free. How could I do it? Everything I loved most was made with wheat, including pizza, bread, pasta, and more. It seemed pretty impossible. I did a bit of research and am happy to say that I am doing it, and have not only dropped a whole clothing size but my blood sugar has also gone down drastically. For years I was told I was pre-diabetic, and now I am substantially below that pre-diabetic number. I also have more energy and feel so much more healthy.

Is Trader Joes Rolled Oats Gluten Free

Oats are controversial in the gluten-free world, and with good reason. Most oats, while naturally gluten free, are grown in fields also used to grow wheat. Farmers often use shared equipment when the harvesting and processing wheat as they do with harvesting and processing oats.

You can learn more about why oats are controversial in this article, Are Oats Gluten Free? Putting Bobs Red Mill, Quaker Oats and Cheerios to the Test. Consider it essential reading for anyone with celiac disease.

Please note that the following Trader Joes rolled oats are labeled gluten free however, dont confuse them with Trader Joes rolled oats without the gluten-free label.

I just started a gluten-free journey recently so I wanted to seek out the best gluten-free items at Trader Joes that you can pick up today.

These are all items that Ive personally tried and loved, so you know theyre going to be good! I even included a few meal prep ideas here for the gluten-free Trader Joes food listed below, so give those a try too when you get the chance.

Lets dive in!

1. Trader Joes Corn Tortillas

I love to buy this pack of corn tortillas and use them for my popular veggie tacos recipe. Sometimes Ill also make homemade tortilla chips by brushing them with a little oil and baking them. Pro tip: these corn chips are super fresh which means they spoil quickly. If youre not going to use them within a few days, store them in the freezer.

2. Green Goddess Salad Dressing

This salad/everything dressing is so perfect for literally anything youll ever make . And I LOVE that there are only six simple ingredients that are printed right there on the front of the label. Use this dressing for all your Buddha Bowls, Green Goddess Bowls, or whatever bowl youre in the mood for today. I also like to pour it all over rice and sautéed tofu for a lazy weeknight dinner.

3. Soy Chorizo

4. Organic Chia Bars

7. Almond Butter

8. Fruit Bars

Savory Banana And Nuts Trek Mix

The Best Crackers For Cheese

Testing For Hidden Gluten

I only tested products that were either labeled gluten free or do not contain gluten ingredients. Please note the results below are for entertainment purposes and they do not guarantee that the product you see on your local store shelves will get a similar result.

Also note that when the Nima Sensor detects gluten, it displays a wheat symbol and the message Gluten Found. When it doesnt detect gluten, it displays a smiley face.

Here is how some of my favorite products at Trader Joes fared when put to the Nima Sensor test:

Vegan Ranch Crunch Salad Kit

This packaged salad mix features a base of green and red cabbage, romaine lettuce, and kale with crispy fried onions, roasted sunflower kernels, carrots, and green onions. Its all tossed with a super-creamy and cow-friendly vegan ranch dressing. Add a Turkeyless Protein Patty or some cubed baked tofu on top to round out your dinner, or enjoy it as is for a quick and easy lunch.

Trader Joes Fully Cooked Falafel

Both vegan and gluten free, these are another convenient staple to have on hand. Throw them into a wrap, serve them atop of a salad, or even simply dip them as a snack. Love that these have 6 grams of fiber per serving!

A few tips: to keep them from tasting dry, cover them with a damp paper towel when heating. And to serve with an easy tahini sauce, mix tahini, lemon juice, garlic powder, water and salt to your liking. Kids may enjoy dipping them in ketchup:).
