Sometimes nothing beats getting a pizza delivered to your door – and there lots of gluten free pizza deliveries in the UK.

Getting a gluten free pizza delivery is in fact easy, and there are plenty of options if you have coeliac disease for a coeliac-safe pizza.

I thought I’d outline some of the UK national chains where you can get a gluten free pizza delivery.

Most of these are safe for people with coeliac disease – and where they are not, I will clearly state this.

I have coeliac disease and would only eat from coeliac-safe venues, but I know many who follow me don’t have to be as strict on cross contamination.

I wanted to also make sure the non-coeliac-safe venues were included so you can clearly see which ones are considered safe when making a decision on your gluten free pizza delivery.

All the information is correct as of June 2021, but obviously menus do change often so please always double check before ordering.

It may be that you also need to contact the restaurant directly to state you have coeliac disease, so please do bear this in mind.

It should also be said that there are many wonderful independent restaurants offering coeliac-safe gluten free pizzas, so please do check your local area too.

Gluten Free Groceries Are Easy To Find

Almost every single main grocery store in Italy has some sort of gluten free section, usually in a whole separate section. The exception would be small convenience stores, which arent usually a great place to find gluten free bread, pasta, etc.

Things are well-labeled, and youll want to look for senza glutine on packaged foods. Carrefour and CONAD were our favorites in Florence, and they have a nice selection of gluten free items in a dedicated section at most of their locations in the city.

Gelato Shops Are A Minefield Of Cross

The gelato goes on the cone, the scoop touches the cone, the scoop goes back into the tub, repeat as needed.

Pepperoni Pizza At Galactic

This is my husband and my go to pizza place. We order ...

If you want a mixture of awesomeness and gluten-free menu, then you should try this pepperoni pizza. It has a thin crust, and it is chewy. Also, if you like a lot of tomato sauce on your pizza, then they got you covered.

If you are in the Minneapolis region and looking for a good pepperoni pizza or any good pizza, even if you are a vegan or not, then you should try Galactic pizza place. You can visit their website or go to their physical location.

Gluten Free Stuffed Crust Pizza Recipe

This recipe makes 1 gluten free stuffed crust pizza. Dave and I have very good appetites, but find one of these between us fills us up, as with the thick crust its quite filling. But, leftovers from the pizza do keep nicely , so you can always double the recipe to be on the safe side :D.

Youll find a detailed method below, with tonnes of pictures to guide you through the recipe. If you have any questions feel free to get in touch. You can contact me at or message me on Instagram/Facebook .

One piece of simple kit I would recommend, is a silicone baking mat. You can use non-stick baking paper to assemble your pizza, but the baking mats are much sturdier and are reusable too.

Lastly, if you enjoy this stuffed crust pizza, I would be really grateful if you could leave a star rating or review on the recipe card below. Thank you!

Gluten Free Flour Blend

I try to develop recipes that can be relatively agnostic about which of my recommended all purpose gluten free flour blends you choose, since I know not everyone has access to the same ingredients. But this recipe is designed to create an especially specific texture.

For that reason, I highly recommend using either Better Batter or my mock Better Batter in this otherwise very simple recipe. Its a sturdy flour that is best for creating a chewy crust that doesnt puff up too much like a blend like Cup4Cup would. Using the proper flour blend here also helps us avoid using any other enrichments or stabilizers, like Expandex modified tapioca starch or eggs.

Gluten Free Stuffed Crust Pizza

I tried making gluten free stuffed crust pizza for fun recently, adapting my super populargluten free pizza dough. A few tweaks later and I was eating the MOST INCREDIBLE stuffed crust pizza, with a soft, pliable fluffy base and crispy, cheese-filled crusts. Absolute heaven.

Lots of you have been asking for this recipe, so I did a rerun to check everything and am now happy to share. Hopefully youll all be living the stuffed crust dream before too long!

If you usually make my gluten free pizza recipe at home, youll find this dough is much less wet and sticky, as I needed to toughen it up to make it easy to work with. The end result is still a lovely crust, almost fluffy and filled with teeny bubbles to keep it soft. No horrible cardboard pizza base here, no no no, just a proper pizza flop!

Why Is Pizza Gluten Free

The words pizza and good skin may not make sense together, but a gluten-free crust can help you achieve just that, or at least more so than the wheat-based counterpart. Gluten-free meals mean less processed and baked sugary goods, which helps your skin heal from irritation and other issues.

Tips For Measuring Gluten

The best way to measure gluten-free flour is the spoon & level method. Using a spoon, scoop the flour into the measuring cup. After youve spooned the flour into the measuring cup, use the back of a knife to level off the top of the measuring cup. Please do not scoop the flour out of the bag with your measuring cup or you could get more gluten-free flour than the recipe calls for.

Also, use a measuring cup made for dry ingredients .

Dedicated Gluten Free Restaurants In Florence

Gluten

Here are the places in Florence that are 100% gluten free. There are several great options, and you could spend your time ONLY eating at dedicated gluten free restaurants in Florence, where you can order ANYTHING on the menu .

Sgrano

We enjoyed Sgrano so much that we actually ended up going back twice. Once for lunch to try their fantastic Schiaccate which are similar to a panini or focaccia sandwich. Once for dinner to try their gluten free pizza, which I think was the best we had in Florence.

The street that its on Via dei Neri is home to a couple of the most famous restaurants in Florence, which all serve up some version of Fiorentian street food . If you have Celiac Disease and want to partake in the phenomenon of hundreds of people plopped on the curb, huge sandwich in hand, this is the place for you.

They have a range of different fillings, though most of them involve some sort of cured meat, which meant Alysha wasnt super excited about them. We tried two, and much preferred the Bomba, which was filled with pancetta , peppers , and gorgonzola with a honey drizzle.

Its worth noting that they only serve the sandwiches at lunch no pizza available.

Their pizza was really good, with a bubbly crust that had a very wood-fired taste. Their base flour blend is a mix of corn, buckwheat, rice, and multigrain flour. And again, everything in the restaurant is gluten free, so the risk of cross-contamination is low .

Do Quaker Oats Have Gluten

Heres the statement from Quaker Oats regarding this problem: Yes, oats are naturally gluten-free. However, during farming, transportation, and storage, gluten-containing grains like wheat, rye, barley, and spelt may be unintentionally introduced. However, some people will have reactions even with pure oats.

So Whats The Deal With Gluten

A gluten-free diet is a diet that excludes gluten, a protein composite found in wheat, barley, rye, and all their species and hybrids. The inclusion of oats in a gluten-free diet remains controversial.

Gluten causes health problems for those with gluten-related disorders, including celiac disease , non-celiac gluten sensitivity , gluten ataxia, dermatitis herpetiformis and wheat allergy. In these patients, the gluten-free diet is demonstrated as an effective treatment. In addition, at least in some cases, the gluten-free diet may improve gastrointestinal and/or systemic symptoms in diseases like irritable bowel syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis or HIV enteropathy, among others. Several studies show that about 79% of the people with coeliac disease have an incomplete recovery of the small bowel, despite a strict gluten-free diet. This is mainly caused by inadvertent ingestion of gluten. People with poor basic education and understanding of gluten-free diet often believe that they are strictly following the diet, but are making regular errors.

The Healing Power of Pizza Making

Wheat flour contains long strands of a protein called gluten, which not everyone can digest, especially those with celiac disease. Fortunately, a number of places offer pies on gluten-free dough, typically made from rice or corn flour, with some potato flakes for moisture. Here are a dozen that people who are gluten sensitive can happily turn to.

The Italian Celiac Association Is Amazing

At a high level, the AIC educates restaurants in Italy on how to safely serve Celiacs a gluten free meal, from sourcing ingredients to separating equipment and surfaces in the kitchen. Its a revelation, coming from the USA where its essentially a free-for-all, and terms like gluten-friendly have somehow become a thing, and are popping up everywhere.

In Italy, its generally a good assumption that if something is AIC-accredited, they know what theyre doing.

The first thing you should do when youre planning a gluten free trip to Italyis download the AIC app, which costs $2.99 to subscribe for two weeks to their database of accredited gluten free restaurants in Italy .

In that app, they have an interactive map where you can see certified restaurants in a given area, including the user ratings . I automatically disregarded any restaurant with a rating below 4.0, for what its worth. Its a lifesaver, and its better than FindMeGlutenFree, I think.
