More About Crown Royal Whiskey
This Canadian whisky was introduced in 1939: it was a tribute to the royal tour of Canada of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. It was available only in Canada until 1964, then introduced in the US in the 1960s. Some people consider Canadian whisky at the lower strata of the whiskey world, but its very popular and can make a mean drink.
You can use any type of Crown Royal in this drink. There are lots of flavor variations that could work, like Apple, Peach, Vanilla, Black, and so forth. We wouldnt recommend using the Maple Crown Royal here, though: its flavor is overpowering.

How Is Whiskey Made
Whiskey is distilled from rye, corn, and barley. Due to this combination of grains, Crown Royal is called a blend. 80% of Crown Royals grains come from Manitoba and surrounding provinces, producing hearty, resilient ingredients. Five different mixtures and twelve distillation columns produce the Crown Royal blends. After that, the liquid is aged in different types of barrels, which creates variations.
Crown Royal Moves Into Rtds
Diageo-owned Canadian whisky brand Crown Royal has unveiled its first ready-to-drink cocktail range to meet demand for convenient formats.
The new canned ready-to-drink line comprises: Washington Apple, Whisky and Cola, and Peach Tea. Each expression has an ABV of 7% and is recommended served chilled.
Washington Apple combines Crown Royal whisky with apple and sparkling cranberry flavours, while Peach Tea is a blend of Crown Royal, peach flavour and brewed tea.
The brand said the launch of the new range bridges the gap between loyal whisky fans and cocktail enthusiasts.
Theres an increasing interest in ready-to-drink products and theres a real desire from our drinkers to enjoy the cocktails theyve always loved at the bar, said Nicky Heckles, vice president of Crown Royal.
Whether youre relaxing in front of the TV or enjoying time in the backyard, Crown Royal ready-to-drink cocktails are perfect for those who want to celebrate with ease, but not compromise on the premium whisky and flavours we all know and love.
Available across the US, the RTD cocktails are priced at RRP US$14.99 for a four-pack of a single flavour, and US$3.99 per 12oz can.

Gluten Free Whiskey List
Last updated on by Adam Bryan. This post may contain affiliate links.
Whiskey is a type of alcohol typically made from gluten grains which are removed to 20 ppm.
According to most Celiac Disease experts, most whiskey is safe to drink for Celiacs.
However, since everyone reacts to gluten differently, you will have to drink at your own risk.
So with that being said, lets jump straight into the gluten free whiskey listing!
Why Some People May Experience Symptoms
There are several reasons why some individuals may have negative reactions to consuming whiskey.
While distillation separates most of the gluten, theres a chance that it doesnt remove 100%, especially if the distillation process wasnt performed correctly .
Additionally, theres a risk of cross-contamination if the whiskey is processed in a facility that handles gluten-containing ingredients.
Whats more, gluten-containing ingredients may be added to whiskey after distillation, such as undistilled grain mash for flavor or caramel coloring made from barley malt.
Unfortunately, its often impossible to tell if these ingredients were added by simply looking at the bottle. Therefore, the best way to know whether a product is safe to consume is by contacting the distillery directly.
Plus, when it comes to mixed drinks, its important to check with your bartender to make sure that all of the ingredients used are gluten-free.
Some people with gluten sensitivity may react to whiskey due to trace amounts of gluten, cross-contamination during processing, or gluten-containing ingredients that were added to the product after distillation.
Many popular brands of whiskey are made from a mash made with gluten-containing grains. However, people with gluten allergies or sensitivities may still be able to tolerate them due to the distillation process.
