Les Bires De La Nouvelle
Les bières de la Nouvelle-France is a microbrewery located in Quebec that offers four gluten-free beers: Messagère, a gluten-free pale ale, Messagère Red Ale, Messagère Millet, and Messagère aux fruits.
The company uses an independent laboratory to test its Messagère beers for gluten cross-contamination. The beers are widely available in Canada, and the company hopes to begin distributing to the U.S. soon.
Sprecher Brewery Shakparo Beer
Another Milwaukee-based brewery, Sprecher Brewery, makes Shakparo Ale, a traditional West African beer. Barley and wheat aren’t grown much in Africa, and these beers rely on millet and sorghum.
Sprecher beers are available in Wisconsin and nearby states, but the company does not currently ship alcoholic beverages.

Sisters’ Salsa Products Now On Shelves In 500 Winn
Avoyelles Parish-based 2 Sisters’ Salsa’s three sugar- and gluten-free products are now in 300 Winn-Dixie stores in five southeast states, the company announced last week.
The products first hit the shelves about a year ago, said sales manager Denise Ramon. Winn-Dixie carries the three flavors — Original, Fiesta and Jalapeno — in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.
The salsa company, is also available at Walmart, Brookshire Brothers, Albertsons, United Supermarkets, Super Foods, Food Depot and Rouses Markets.
“We are growing our brand with aggressive promotions, store samplings and expanding store distribution,” she said.
The company was designed with these type of large-scale expansions in mind.
The facility where we produce our product was built for the present and the future, said CEO/President Patrick Deshotels. We can meet current demand, but we can also expand further in the years to come.

Gluten Free Pizza Crust
Talking with folks that I know with Celiac disease it seems that one ofthe most missed foods is pizza. While there are some pizza placesthat make a gluten free crust, that’s rare.
So the alternatives are to make your own, go without or purchase a frozencrust. Interestingly, frozen crusts are pretty easy to find,and you don’t have to just look at specialty stores like Whole Foods.
I found a pizza crust in the Organic / Natural Food section of Winn Dixie.Yep, that’s right: Winn Dixie. You can’t get any more basic thanthat. And a pizza crust on the shelf. Not the freezer shelf, mindyou. The company Schär makes this product. They’re a huge companyin Europe and I have seen their products during my travels. I will admitthat I was pretty negative about this choice. First of all, it’s on the shelfand not frozen, and second, it just looked funny. Like a cross between aFrisbee and a muffin top.
That said, this was pretty good. After cooking the middle of the pizzahad some bite and the edge was crispy. The flavor was yeasty,like a pizza should be. Not perfect, but as good as any frozenpizza dough we’ve ever tested. The drawback? They list 1/3 of a pie as 130 calories. That’s a lot,because in truth 1/2 of a pie is about a slice, so that putsit at almost 200 calories for the crust alone .
Until the Naked Pizza folks come your way so that you can order pizza again,you do have some alternatives for a quick and easy pizza.
