Tested Quaker Oats For Gluten

Actually right after this video, I will show you a test of me testing Quaker Oats at 20 parts per million twice. What I did was I picked up a package of Quaker Oats, tested it twice from two different samples, two different tests. They both tested positive for gluten at 20 parts per million.

So Quaker Oats are never safe. Dont try to save a dime and purchase Quaker Oats instead of gluten-free oats or something like that. Its not very smart.

If theres any products or ingredients or anything that youd like for me to test that might contain gluten or youre just suspicious of or you would like to know, I would like to know what you would like to know. Let me know in the comments section and you can also test it using one of the glutentox home test kits.

I have performed two different gluten tests. I have testing two different samples from the same package of Quaker Oats old-fashion oats. I have performed this test for anyone thats wondering are oats gluten-free, specifically Quaker Oats. The short answer is no, Quaker Oats are not gluten-free. Unless they are certified gluten-free, they will not be gluten-free.

The picture on your right-hand corner, thats a picture of a blue line and a pink line signifying a positive test result for gluten at 20 parts per million, so its not gluten-free.

So if you ever meet anyone and they say, Oh, no. Oats are gluten-free, tell them, No, Quaker Oats are not gluten-free.

However, once you have added sweeteners and fruit, they need to be refrigerated and used within two weeks. Make up a batch at one time that will last you a few weeks and you will be all set.

Why Isn’t All Oatmeal Gluten

Since pure oats and pure oatmeal are gluten-free, you’re probably wondering how gluten can get in. The problem is gluten cross-contamination that starts in farmers’ fields and carries on through processing.

Most farmers and food processors who grow and handle oats also grow and handle the gluten grains wheat, barley, and rye. Using the same equipment for both oats and gluten grains means that a tiny amount of gluten winds up in your oatmeal.

Here’s the statement from Quaker Oats regarding this problem: “Yes, oats are naturally gluten-free. However, during farming, transportation, and storage, gluten-containing grains like wheat, rye, barley, and spelt may be unintentionally introduced.”

It’s possible to grow pure oats that are safe on the gluten-free diet, and companies selling certified gluten-free oatmeal are using oats that do not have any gluten cross-contamination. Those should be safe for the majority of people with celiac disease and non-celiac gluten sensitivity. However, some people will have reactions even with pure oats.
