In the end, contact companies directly if you have a question about a product. Question sources, even if that source is me! I can be just as wrong as anybody else. Also, use regular apple cider in my gluten free apple dumplings. Taste MUCH better than Mt. Dew or any other soda or pop.

Note- I contacted Dr. Pepper again after their initial email requesting more information. I also provided the links to the images I shared here, asking for further clarification. When I again asked if the gluten in their products was from wheat, rye, barley or corn, this was their reply.

Unfortunately that information is proprietary. If you have any health concerns we advise abstaining from using the product. The products listed on our Gluten Free page are the products that do not contain any gluten.

Is Dr Pepper Gluten

Are you craving a blend of those 23 authentic flavors? Dr Pepper has a unique taste that no other soda quite replicates. If you adhere to a gluten-free diet, you know that you can never be too safe to check what youre consuming.

Before cracking open the soda can, ask yourself, is Dr Pepper Gluten-free?

The answer is yes you can indulge now. Dr Pepper follows the FDA guidelines and contains less than 20 ppm gluten. They do not have a gluten-free certification or label on their products, but you can find all the allergens listed on the manufacturers website.

Read on to take a closer look at the ingredients and find out what other flavors of Dr Pepper you can enjoy on a gluten-free diet.

How Does Wheat Gluten Differ From Corn Gluten

The concept of gluten causes confusion. Some will even tell you gluten doesnt exist without kneading. Technically, gluten is the combination of prolamins and glutelin. These are both found in the endosperm of the the grain. This What is Gluten diagram from Celiac Kids Connection explains it better than I ever could.

In wheat, the specific glutelin is glutenin. For those with Celiac Disease, it is specifically the glutenin and the prolamin gliadin that cause a reaction. Sometimes people call the protein in corn gluten, but it isnt the same thing. Just like glutinous rice, those with Celiac Disease can also consume corn.

A common trend is the over extrapolation of benefits of a diet. The original hypoallergenic for diagnosing food allergies in dogs and cats, Hills Prescription Diet d/d , is a great example of this. Originally, this clinically tested food often used as an elimination diet to help owners figure out what their pet was allergic to was made of lamb and rice in a time when no pet food used this ingredient. And while it did succeed in curing some animals of food allergy-associated skin conditions, soon, lamb found its way into general pet food, falsely marketed as being beneficial for all pets. Eventually, its popularity rendered the original d/d formula no longer useful as an elimination diet due to over-exposure of lamb as an ingredient.

Healthy Alternatives To Soda

Just because most soda is gluten-free doesnt mean that its healthy.

In fact, studies show that sugar-sweetened beverages may be linked to a higher risk of weight gain, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and even cancer .

Swapping out your soda for healthier, gluten-free alternatives can be incredibly beneficial.

Flavored water, unsweetened iced tea, and seltzer are all excellent options that can help curb cravings for soda while keeping you hydrated.

Kombucha is another great substitute if youre looking for a fermented, fizzy, and flavorful drink to incorporate into your routine.

Alternatively, try out other healthy, gluten-free drinks like coconut water, lemon water, or herbal teas to help meet your hydration needs.

Summary

Though most soda is gluten-free, its not necessarily healthy. Switching out your soda for other healthy, gluten-free drinks can be an easy way to help boost your health.

    Why Would Soda Contain Gluten

Most well-known brands are gluten-free and do not contain any gluten ingredients. However, Ive discovered that the cheaper the soda, the more likely it is to contain gluten. For example, the value brand lemonade and cola in my local store both contain barley as an ingredient. Early on in my diagnosis, I was caught out by this a few times. If you stick to well-known brands, its highly unlikely that they will contain gluten.

This Is The Difference Between Dr Pepper Zero Sugar And Diet Dr Pepper

Coke and Pepsi might be the big gangs in Colatown, but somewhere in a dark, yet welcoming back alley, Dr Pepper is running a cool Jazz club for the people who’re looking for something a little more… special. The good doctor’s 23 flavors have been more than enough to keep the brand in the game long enough to warrant the famous “Est. 1885” on the label, and while it does have a historical competitor in the Coca-Cola Company’s side hustle Mr. Pibb, Dr Pepper continues to preside over its spicy domain.

Still, even Dr Pepper isn’t immune to the passage of time, and the popularity of diet sodas has expanded the brand with two different diet-themed versions: Diet Dr Pepper, and the recently-announced Dr Pepper Zero Sugar. But why would a company have two distinct diet versions of its popular drink on the market? Is there, perhaps, some profound difference between the two that you have been missing? Let’s take a look at the real difference between Dr Pepper Zero Sugar and Diet Dr Pepper.
