Inspired by an old family recipe and named after their daughter Alyssa, this innovative brand has since struck a deal on Shark Tank and can now be found in several retailers across the United States. Healthy Vegan Chocobites are non-GMO, low in carbs, made with natural ingredients, and gluten-free. These soft and chewy plant-based desserts are sweetened only with chicory root fiber, made with whole grain oats, contain dried fruits, and are loaded with chocolate goodness.

You can buy a lot of these cookie brands online but I prefer to purchase them in-store because it’s cheaper. I found that each store had different brands and types so just keep looking until you find the ones you want.

Where I live Whole Foods, Walmart, and Fresh Market had the most options. I struck out at Aldi but my gut says they usually have more to choose from.

I’m a big fan of anything made with ginger, whether it’s straight gingerbread, ginger ale, or savory dishes with a ginger component. I think it’s a wildly underrated ingredient and it should be used in recipes more often!

The Ginger Zingers come in a cute, old-timey lunch sack-type bag, and the packaging is simple and classic. Definite A+ on branding.

However, I was disappointed to see that many of the cookies were broken when I pulled the plastic sleeve out of the bag.

I NEED your help, my sis-in-love texted a few months ago, almost in a panic.

See, her sweet newborns belly wasnt doing great, and they decided to follow a dairy-free diet to see if would help.

When it comes to baked goods, it can often be really tough to find something that suits our FODMAP needs. As I said above, a lot of groceries store, health food stores, and ma and pa shops/bakeries have been so great at introducing more products for people with dietary restrictions.

Yet, as you know, when it comes to IBS and following the low-FODMAP diet, there are often food ingredients that send us over the top, that are not common foods that are accommodated for. And not only that, but often with baked goods you are not given an ingredients list. So you can’t be sure that the product that you are eating won’t have you running the bathroom.

We can often find some dairy-free and gluten-free desserts, but the substitute ingredients used are nut based or loaded up with black-beans. And although I love how local health food stores or bakeries have been so great at accommodating for a multitude of dietary restriction, sometimes they take so much out , that you lose that sugary goodness that you were looking for in the first place!

Well have no fear friends. I have found you a no-good-for-you, sweet-as-can-be, gluten-free, low-FODMAP dessert to satisfy you sweet tooth and leave your soul happy.

For people Celiac disease or gluten sensitivity is very important because even trace amounts can cause serious symptoms.   • Less than 150 calories. “Each cookie should have less than 150 calories per serving,” says Keri Gans, RDN, Nutritionist and author of The Small Change Diet.
