My first bet would be to try using a dairy-free alternative to double cream and a vegan condensed milk.

I havent had time to try this personally, but youre welcome to try it before I do! Fortunately, most gluten-free Oreo-style biscuits tend to be dairy-free too, though ensure you check the packaging first.

Ingredients You Need For Dairy

Like most no churn ice cream recipes, this one is simple to customize and starts off with:

  • coconut cream we like to buy the one from Trader Joes or you can spoon out the thick part of chilled full-fat coconut milk
  • full-fat coconut milk be sure to buy the canned full-fat coconut milk and not lite coconut milk from a carton
  • cashew butter is what gives this ice cream the best cheesecake flavor without traditional cream cheese. However, if you dont have cashew butter, you can sub another nut butter such as almond butter or even homemade cashew cream
  • maple syrup for vegan ice cream OR you may also sub with honey, agave or your favorite low carb keto liquid sweetener such as liquid monk fruit sweetener, stevia or Lakanto sugar-free maple syrup

For the homemade Oreo cream filling

  • coconut butter you want it softened
  • pure maple syrup

How to Make Gluten Free, Allergy Friendly Cookies and Cream Ice Cream!

Yes! Although I make ours with dairy cream and condensed dairy milk , the ice cream can also be made dairy free and Vegan with a couple of simple substitutions. Use instead:

  • Sweetened condensed coconut milk
  • Full-fat coconut milk at least 75% coconut solids 2 cans

How To Make No Churn Ice Cream

So Delicious Dairy Free

The first step is to whip the heavy whipping cream. This can be done using a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer, an electric hand mixer, one of those old-school hand-cranked metal mixers, or by hand if you’ve got a lot of arm muscle and patience.

I like to use the Kitchen Aid stand mixer to complete this step simply because it’s easy but any of these methods will work.

  • Start by pouring 1 pint of cold heavy whipping cream into a bowl. Mix the cream with your equipment of choice until it forms stiff peaks . This usually takes 5-6 minutes on medium-high speed. .
  • Pour 1 14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk into a large bowl.
  • Once the heavy whipping cream is whipped add 1 scoop at a time to the sweetened condensed milk and gently fold it in using a spatula. It’s important to add it a bit at a time and not to mix it too vigorously – The whipped cream will keep the mixture light and airy and over-mixing it will take all the air out of it.

    This recipe is based off of my friend Andreas which uses simple ingredients and just one bowl. I made a few changes to the ingredients and recipe process and also adapted it so its great for Keto, GAPS and other diets:

  • Combine dry ingredients in mixing bowl.
  • Add shortening and sweetener. Use an electric mixer to quickly combine ingredients.
  • Dollop cookie dough on prepared baking sheet.
  • For each cookie, dip a spoon or three fingers in a little water. With wetted back of spoon or your fingers, press cookie dollops to flatten and smooth each one.
  • Bake for 8 to 9 minutes. Cool slightly, then transfer to cooling rack to cool completely.
  • Break up and crumble cookies.
