Empowered And Gluten Free

It is better to have occasional gluten exposures and be out enjoying life, being social, than to be at home avoiding gluten and being safe, says Silvester. As a society, people do not see eating as an activity that involves nourishing themselves. It is seen as a task, not necessarily something that is valued or an investment. People prioritize other activities over food. Therefore, they are not willing to spend time. You get what you put into things. Often, having celiac disease forces people to shift that balance.

This Is My Attempt To Help

Thats where I believe this website, Is It Truly Gluten Free?, can help. My objective is to test as many food products as possible for gluten content, using standard gluten test kits, and then post the results for all to see. By doing so, I hope to help you make more informed food decisions.

However, simply posting the results of a single gluten test for any given food product is not particularly helpful. Testing products for the presence of gluten is somewhat limited in its usefulness because in a given test, only a small sample of the food can be tested. If that small sample tests gluten-free, that simply means that the sample didnt contain gluten. What about the remainder of the food that didnt make it into the sample? Additionally, what about the thousands of other packages of that product sitting out there on grocery store shelves? How do you know if theyre all gluten-free? Well, the short answer is that its not possible to determine whether a product is always gluten free. However, to help overcome this limitation, I will be testing food products multiple timesMANY times, in fact. By performing multiple tests on each product, we can then obtain a clearer, and statistically more accurate view of whether the food is truly gluten-free or not.

Truly Hard Seltzer Is The Second Highest

As the hard seltzer market has continued to boom, increasing by 255 percent from 2019, plenty of other companies have jumped on the bandwagon. But White Claw Hard Seltzer and Truly Hard Seltzer continue to take top honors in the hard seltzer category, and their popularity doesn’t seem to be letting up.

White Claw Hard Seltzer accounted for 54 percent of the 2019 sales of hard seltzer, and because of that outrageous surge in popularity, White Claw even faced a shortage in 2019 because it couldn’t keep up with demand. And while Truly Hard Seltzer hasn’t quite faced a shortage, its popularity continues to hold strong in the number two spot. Coupled with White Claw, the two hard hitters hold 85 percent of the hard seltzer category. Truly has a way to go to catch up, but it’s riding on White Claw’s wave pretty closely.

Many Spiked Seltzers Are Gluten

Many stores group spiked seltzer with light beers because theyre low in calories. However, light beer and hard seltzer are very different. The alcohol in beer comes from fermented barley and other grains. In spiked seltzer, the alcohol comes from fermented sugar. This produces clean, neutral alcohol that is often gluten-free. While hard seltzers are not universally certified gluten-free, the brands offer tasty, refreshing options for the gluten-free crowds other than sugary ciders!

Hard Seltzer Is A Great Mixer

DRUNK Taste Test w/ Sam Golbach | (HARD SELTZERS)

We love spiked seltzer as a mixer. Not only does spiked seltzers low sugar content make it ideal for health-conscious summer mixed drinks, but its a versatile choice for other reasons. Hard seltzer adds depth and complexity to straightforward drinks like vodka soda and tequila soda, and an extra kick of flavor to classics like sangria. Hard seltzer also holds its fruit flavors when mixed, compared to traditionally flavored seltzer, which tends to fade into the background when added to a summery punch.

Is Hard Seltzer Gluten

Not all hard seltzer brands are truly and naturally gluten-free.

Most manufacturers use cane sugar instead of gluten to produce the alcohol in hard seltzers. But that doesnt mean that hard seltzers are high in calories!

Sugar is removed in the crafting process, making the hard sparkling water the king of low-calorie alcoholic drinks.

When it comes to gluten, some hard seltzer brands use gluten-containing grains. Producers take out most of these gluten grains during fermentation, but still they cant get rid of all gluten.

We cant consider these gluten-removed products 100% gluten-free. So, people with Celiac or other severe digestion issues should always check the label for the gluten-free sign or read the detailed ingredient list.

And the addition to the family has certainly been beneficial. As of , Truly Hard Seltzer held 22 percent of the market share, and with that popularity, it helped to bring the value of Boston Beery Company up by 45 percent in 2019. Talk about a win-win family dynamic.

Reasons Spiked Seltzer Should Be Your Summer Go

When the weather warms up, we start hunting for our new favorite summer drink. The ideal libation is crisp, refreshing, and wont destroy our fitness goals. Unfortunately, beer is a calorie-laden trap, albeit a pleasant one. Thankfully, there are a growing number of lighter options, including spiked seltzer.

What makes spiked seltzer unique from beer or wine coolers? Its made with just a few essential ingredients: fermented sugar, fruit, and sparkling water. You can find an appealing range of choices in our stores, from traditional seltzer water flavors like cranberry or lime, to more modern interpretations, like rosé and prickly pear. While there are lots of reasons to stock up on hard seltzer this summer, here are four reasons we love this on-trend beverage.

Spiked Seltzer Has Fewer Calories And Less Sugar

Today, people are turning away from sugary drinks and looking for healthier options. Spiked seltzer contains less sugar per serving than most beer, wine coolers, and other premixed drink options. During the fermentation process, most of the beverages sugar converts into neutral alcohol.

On average, seltzers contain 100 calories per can or less. Beer, especially craft beer, can have up to 400 calories per serving. And at 4-5% ABV, depending on the brand, hard seltzer goes head-to-head with a light beer in terms of alcohol content, but may have fewer calories.

Studies also suggest that our bodies process sugary drinks and foods differently than their low-sugar counterparts. Both sugar and alcohol are dehydrating, and large amounts of sugar and alcohol may also overwhelm your liver. Its no surprise that many people feel lousy the morning after they drink a lot of sugary mixed drinks.

Whether youre looking for a low-sugar option or want to avoid a sugar-induced hangover, hard seltzer is a good option. We also encourage everyone to drink responsibly.

For a hard seltzer option thats low in sugar, try Smirnoff Seltzer in Berry Lemonade 90 calories and zero grams of sugar!

What Alcoholic Beverages Are Safe For A Gluten

If youre on a gluten-free diet, try to avoid beverages with malt, barley and other gluten-containing grains. These include beers, ales, wine coolers and certain wines with added colouring and flavouring.

Distilled spirits and liquors like whiskey, bourbon, vodka and gin made from non-gluten grain sources can cause a bloated belly and other digestion issues to gluten-sensitive people.

Whats more, there are alcoholic beverages that can trigger digestion reactions even if their labels dont include gluten grain ingredients. Thats because wheat gluten can sneak into alcoholic drinks as a fining agent that gives the drink a polished finish.

Fortunately, theres a new, light, refreshing and healthy alcoholic drink category that can be naturally gluten-free: Hard Seltzer, the drink of the future.
