Guests can review our allergen information and order knowing many delicious menu options exist at Applebees for everyone. When Would You Recommend Taco Bell

All most never. Taco Bell is not a terrible place. If you are on a gluten free diet and need a quick meal in a pinch, then maybe it would work. However, there are so many great gluten free options out there, I dont think eating gluten free at Taco Bell should be a regular occurrence.

Youre on a long drive and its late, there are tons of Taco Bells on the highways, Ill give it a hard maybe. After I have exhausted all other options though. Id check out places like Chipotle or Qdoba, always a better choice if you are looking for tacos or burrito bowls.

Taco Bell even has a blog article on their site that tries to help you navigate their menu. I think the biggest takeaway from this article is their disclaimer at the bottom which states Taco Bell® does not recommend products for customers with celiac disease. Customers with gluten sensitivities should exercise judgment when ordering. Id suggest putting the word extreme before judgement if you asked me!

How To Make Baked Tostadas

For this recipe, I opted to bake my tostadas instead of using the store-bought fried ones for health reasons. Baking tostadas is super simple. All you do is brush both sides of a corn tortilla with avocado oil and bake it on both sides. Thats it.

You can always use store-bought fried tostadas, but baking your tostadas is super easy and will save you fat and calories.

Taco Bell has a few menu items that are not made with glutencontaining ingredients. Taco Bell’s website even has a handy tool to identify items on the menu that don’t contain gluten and other allergens. However, menu items that do not contain gluten are still not safe for with Celiac disease and non-Celiac gluten sensitivity.

On their website, Taco Bell states the restaurant “does not claim “gluten-free” for any of its food. Some Taco Bell® items are made without gluten containing ingredients but are prepared in common kitchen areas, including common fryer oil, risking gluten exposure. Taco Bell® does not recommend products for customers with celiac disease. Customers with gluten sensitivities should exercise judgment when ordering.”

With that statement, Taco Bell puts safety into the consumers’ hands. It is up to the consumers to make the choice to eat at Taco Bell or not when living with Celiac disease or gluten sensitivity.

Eating Out Gluten Free At Restaurant Chains

You see, if youre allergic to gluten or have Celiacs Disease, there are a few issues that you sometimes run into.

First, most major restaurant chains dont offer an official gluten free menu. Youll literally have to spend hours at a time looking at a restaurants nutrition and ingredients list manually crossing out unsuitable options for your diet. This is an annoying and painstaking task that should be done by no one, and I mean NO ONE.

And if restaurant does have a gluten free menu, they usually burry it in the archives of their websites where youll literally take hours of your life digging through it into you finally find the menu.

Second, if a restaurant does offer a gluten free menu the kitchen staff, servers, and management are either

  • uneducated you know that time when your server teases you with a warm basket of fresh baked bread even after you clearly tell them that you are on a gluten free diet
  • unaware of the gluten free menu sometimes staff dont even know that a gluten free menu at their restaurant even exists.
  • Third, certain restaurants are cross contamination havens I mean seriously, some restaurants you go to are so dangerous for gluten free dieters that their dining experience can be deadly.

    Its a nightmare.

So hopefully, this listing helped you out!

    What Are Some Surprisingly Gluten

As far as being gluten-free goes, Taco Bell is somewhere in the middle. There are certainly a few items you can eat if you’re eating gluten-free, but the list is very limited. Very, very limited.

You might think that Mexican food would be pretty safe. Even fast food-style Mexican food. After all, apart from a few fried items and the flour tortillas, what really contains gluten?

    Heres What Youll Need:

    • Potatoes For this recipe, we like to use russet potatoes, but Yukon Gold would work great too. If you want to put a unique twist on this recipe you can also use sweet potatoes.
    • Avocado oil This will help coat the potatoes to make the seasoning blend stick nicely. If you dont have avocado oil, you can also use olive oil or any oil of your choice.
    • Corn starch Coating your potatoes in corn starch helps get them extra crispy in the oven. If you dont have any corn starch on hand, you can use all-purpose for a non-gluten-free option.
    • Spices The spice blend for these potatoes is rather simple. We are using a blend of paprika, cumin, cayenne pepper, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper. All of these spices combined are *chefs kiss* and make these potatoes taste like absolute perfection.

These crispy potatoes are super versatile. You can use them in tacos, in bowls, or just to snack on. We also have an easy chipotle crema that would pair perfectly with it!

Does Taco Bell Have Gluten Free Food

Free Taco Bell Doritos Locos Taco April 14 2020 Food Review by Bob the Raptor

First the good news! Taco Bell DOES have some gluten free food options, in that they make food that has no gluten ingredients. So, foods like their hard shell corn tacos are gluten free they are not made with wheat or any other gluten ingredient. But, Taco Bell does not have a gluten free menu. And, they also cannot guarantee that cross contamination does not happen, since they do prepare and cook foods that contain gluten in their kitchens.

So, if you are Celiac, youll need to be very careful when eating at Taco Bell. They cannot guarantee that any of their food items have not come into contact with gluten, even if the food itself is not gluten-containing.

    What Exactly Is Gluten

Definition: Gluten is a substance present in cereal grains, especially wheat, that is responsible for the elastic texture of dough. A mixture of two proteins, it causes illness in people with celiac disease.

Gluten is the gluey protein that’s found in most of our common dietary items. Breads, pastas, cereals, and many desserts contain gluten. It’s essential for making most traditional baked goods because it creates the “fluffy” quality of cakes and muffins. It also binds doughs, giving it a nice moist texture.

While gluten might be great for creating texture when making baked goods, for certain people, foods with gluten can lead to severe digestive issues and serious conditions like diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and intestinal cancers. For those with a gluten sensitivity or a gluten allergy, going gluten-free is essential to feeling healthier.
