You can absolutely freeze cream of chicken soup.
In fact, you can make a double or triple batch and freeze it for later, which is a huge time saver.
To freeze cream of chicken soup, pour the cooled gluten free chicken soup into freezer bags and squeeze out all the air.
Lay flat and freeze until solid, and then you can position your frozen cream of chicken soup wherever youd like in the freezer.
Is Canned Cream Of Chicken Soup Gluten Free
Most canned cream of chicken soups in the store are not gluten free.

Can I Make The Soup Ahead Of Time
Chicken noodle soup can be easily made ahead of time and reheated. You may want to add an extra 1-2 cups of broth to the soup because gluten-free pasta expands and soaks up some of the chicken broth.
My family likes more noodles than soup, so I reheat the soup as is and do not need to add more broth. But you can add more broth if you like.
What Ingredients Do You Need You Make Gluten Free Cream Of Chicken Soup
Making cream of chicken soup gluten free is quick and easy.
It takes less than ten minutes, and you only need a few ingredients.
To make gluten free condensed cream of chicken soup youll need:
- Oil or butter. I like using olive oil because it adds a subtle fruity flavor, and is a healthy cooking oil. If you are making your cream of chicken soup with dairy, butter should be your first choice.
- Cooked, shredded chicken. Leftover rotisserie chicken, or even drained canned chicken will work! You can also chop up some raw chicken and cook it until golden brown right in the pan.
- Gluten free flour. The gluten free flour acts as the thickener to make the gluten free roux. I used my gluten free flour blend, but you can use just rice flour, or any gluten free flour blend in your pantry. Youll have best results if you use a gluten free flour that doesnt have xanthan or guar gum in it.
- Broth. I used chicken broth however, if you prefer you can use vegetable broth.
- Milk. I used an unsweetened plain coconut milk this time, but Ive used unsweetened plain almond milk in the past. You can also use dairy milk, or lactose free milk. As long as you dont use a sweetened vanilla flavored milk, you should be set.
- Salt and pepper. Essential if you dont want your soup to taste bland.

Can I Make The Soup In The Instant Pot
You can also make this soup in a pressure cooker. I find it much easier to make the soup on the stovetop, but I do also love my Instant Pot.
Turn your Instant Pot to the saute setting. Add the olive oil, garlic, carrots, and celery and saute for 3 minutes until the vegetables soften.
Stir in the gluten-free chicken broth and the seasonings. Add the diced chicken pieces. Close the lid and set the Instant Pot to the Soup setting and set the timer to 7 minutes.
Once the Instant Pot cycle is complete, wait until the natural release cycle is complete, which is about 10 minutes. Carefully unlock and remove the lid from the instant pot.
Add the gluten-free noodles to the soup and set the Instant Pot to the saute setting again. Cook for another 8-10 minutes uncovered, or until the noodles are cooked. Turn off the Instant Pot by pressing the cancel button and stir in the lemon juice.
How To Make Soups In Bulk
Soup is the perfect dish for a big crowd. Cooking in bulk will allow you to keep it warm and ready to plate as soon as its ordered. Whether serving a stew at your pub, a bisque at your B& B, or a creamy soup at your healthcare cafeteria, its sure to hit the spot.
The first step to making soup in bulk is prepping all the ingredients. Getting the chopping done before you start will ensure you arent scrambling to get everything ready if you accidentally miscalculate timing. You can also pre-measure ingredients and spices and put them in containers or bags until needed if you get distracted easily when counting. Be sure to carefully label each one so you dont get confused.
If your soup is going to simmer and reduce, factor that in when adding salt. A perfectly seasoned soup or stew can become too salty if too much water or base evaporates.

Once you layer in the easy-to-prepare fresh ingredients in these noodle cups, just store them in the refrigerator until youre ready to serve. Theyre perfect for at home or at the office.
At lunchtime, let the cup come to room temperature if youve stored it in the refrigerator. Otherwise, the cold ingredients will cool off the hot water too quickly. Fill the cup with hot water, cover and let steep for 2 minutes. Then serve hot.
Cooking The Instant Soups
Method 1: In the plastic bag. If you use quart freezer bags, they are sturdy and large enough to pour the boiling water directly into the bag. Give it a stir, seal the bag, and let it rest for 9 or 10 minutes. I recommend putting the bag on a plate or bowl to give it a foundation . Open, stir, and eat. Easy!
Method 2: In a covered bowl. The main advantage of eating directly from the bag is that there is less clean-up. But it’s a lot easier to eat soup from a bowl or mug. That’s what King-Man prefers. Pictured below is one we found that is an insulated nesting bowl, mug and lid. It is lightweight and made specifically for backpacking. It was cold where he was hiking, so those features help keep the soup warm while the ingredients soaked in the hot water.

Method 3. In microwave-safe soup mugs. These are not for the trail, but are good options if you are making these instant soups at the office or in a dorm or hotel room. You can add the instant ingredients to the mugs along with the water and microwave them until they boil, cover them and let them rest until the ingredients have all softened. Or, boil the water separately and pour it into the mug with the instant ingredients stir and let rest for 9 or 10 minutes. I have used both of the soup mugs linked below both worked well.
