You will need a proofing container of the same shape of the final bread, a clean kitchen towel , and a way to seal the container .

Bread is generally baked by professionals in very hot steam ovens. Steam is important for the first part of the bake, because it helps maintain moisture on the crust and delays its hardening. If the crust becomes hard too soon, the bread will not get a good oven spring . We can try to replicate this setup at home with either one of the following:

To provide the steam, we will be using a baking tin or tray on a lower oven shelf than the pizza stone. When the bread goes in, we will pour some boiling water in the baking tin and close the oven door.

Tips For Measuring Gluten

The best way to measure gluten-free flour is the spoon & level method. Using a spoon, scoop the flour into the measuring cup. After youve spooned the flour into the measuring cup, use the back of a knife to level off the top of the measuring cup.

Friends, please do not scoop the flour out of the bag with your measuring cup. If you do you may get more flour than the recipe calls for.

Also, measure flour using nested measuring cups. Do not measure dry ingredients in a liquid measuring cup.

    After many failed attempts at trying to create this bread I went back to the drawing board. I researched and researched and found that what I wanted was a tighter crumb. In other words, not a lot of holes in the bread.

    To get that, I had to use less liquid than normal. But in gluten free baking, especially breads, using less liquid usually means the end result is like a brick. Nobody wants that. So how in the world can we make a gluten free bread thats not only soft, but has a tight crumb and a tall rise?

    What Is Genesis Bread

    While not as popular as their Ezekiel line, the brand Food For Life also makes Genesis 1:29 bread. Unlike the Ezekiel verse which lists 6 specific ingredients for bread, the difference with Genesis 1:29 is that it broadly says every seed-bearing plant and every tree that has fruit with seed in it can be used as food in general.

    Heres is the exact verse in the Bible, per the NIV translation:

    Then God said, I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.

    Now this is at the very start of the Bible, in the book of Genesis, where God is giving basic instructions as to what the newly created male and female can eat.

    Baking The Bread In A Pullman Loaf Pan

    I had always wanted to try making it in a Pullman loaf pan. That was the only way to see if I could get those perfect, no-dome slices that are truly made for sandwiches.
