How To Make Strawberry Compote
Strawberry compote is a delicious component in this cake my husbands favorite part! Its perfectly sweet and elevates this cake to the next level. It only takes a few minutes to make and is soooo worth it!
A good time to make the strawberry compote is when the cake is in the oven baking. This will give it plenty of time to cool while the cake bakes and cools itself.
My husband loves this strawberry compote so much he wishes there was twice as much! If you love strawberry compote with your chocolate cake then consider making a little extra!

How To Choose A Gluten Free Gift Basket
When choosing a gluten free gift basket, youll want to thoroughly inspect each item in the basket to make sure its free of gluten. Gluten is a mixture of proteins found in wheat, barley, rye, and oats, so youll want to strictly avoid these ingredients. Fresh fruit is a great choice, as well as nuts, popcorn, beef jerky, and chocolate. Or, choose cookies, cakes, brownies, or crackers made with gluten free flour.
Typically, when it comes to products that are typically laden in gluten, like baked goods, the fact that a product is gluten free will be indicated on the package. If youre a little out of your element when choosing gluten free products, you can always opt for a non-food gift basket instead, such as a spa basket thats filled to the brim with pampering goodies and soaps. However, if you can, its a great idea to try to stick to a food gift. Your loved one will enjoy the fact that you took her dietary restrictions into consideration and chose a basket full of tasty treats she can enjoy.

What Are Sharis Berries
Shari Fitzpatrick, also known as an author, speaker, and creative business innovator, is the founder of Sharis Berries. As a little girl, Sharis father would plant her a strawberry patch each summer, and that sparked her love for strawberries. Shari took her passion and hobby to work creating chocolate-covered strawberries and started her business in 1989.
Today, Sharis Berries are exclusively available online only and shipped nationwide. The website also offers berry subscriptions where you can subscribe and receive delicious berries each month.
Are Sharis Berries Healthy
Sharis Berries are not the healthiest snack option but can be enjoyed in moderation. This delicious chocolate-covered strawberry contains up to 20 grams of sugar per berry in some flavors. If you are going to get any, we recommend choosing dark chocolate.
Dark chocolate has some added health benefits, such as being full of antioxidants, helping produce the feel-good hormone serotonin, and increasing blood flow to the brain.

Should You Add Oil To The Chocolate
While this step is completely optional, oil can be added to the chocolate mixture. Oil is mixed with the chocolate to help soften the outer shell ever so slightly. So when you bite into it, the shell doesnt crumble apart completely.
If you decide to go with this step, just add a tablespoon of coconut oil .

HOW TO MAKE DAIRY-FREE, VEGAN + PALEO CHOCOLATE-COVERED STRAWBERRIES. The ingredients list is REALLY simple for this recipe, so the only thing you need to double check is your chocolate chips. Use chocolate that fits your dietary needs. Some of our favorite brands include:
- Guittard semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips. These dont contain dairy and taste amazing.
MAKE SURE THE STRAWBERRIES ARE TOTALLY DRY BEFORE YOU START! You really do need to dry the strawberries well before trying to dip them in chocolate. Chocolate wont stick well to wet berries, and any water on the berries can cause the chocolate to seize and go grainy. A paper towel or super-clean kitchen towel will do the job!
HOW LONG DO CHOCOLATE-COVERED STRAWBERRIES STAY FRESH? Chocolate-covered strawberries are best eaten within 1-2 days. The chocolate creates a sort of seal, which traps moisture under the chocolate, so theyll start to soften and condense fairly quickly. Sometimes, thell last up to 3 days, but usually 1-2 days is best.
WHATS THE BEST WAY TO STORE CHOCOLATE-COVERED STRAWBERRIES? I store my chocolate-covered strawberries in a single layer in an airtight container in the refrigerator. A paper towel on the bottom of the container will help absorb extra moisture.
