Whats The Difference Between Gluten Free Pizza And Regular Pizza

(REVIEW) udiâs âmargherita pizzaâ? (gluten free) crispy thin crust

The only difference between a regular homemade pizza that youd prepare in your restaurant and gluten free pizza crust is the dough that is used. Often individuals can still eat dough and some starch products on a gluten free diet, so long as the dough and starches do not contain gluten.

Review: Udis Gluten Free Frozen Pizza

Pizza is undoubtedly one of the most difficult foods to recreate sans wheat. Since going gluten free, my family has tried many different gluten free pizzas in search of one that would taste like those pies we remembered from our pre gluten free days.

Several weeks ago, I noticed that my local supermarket had begun carrying these gluten free frozen pizzas by Udis.

My family decided to give them a try, and we were delighted to discover that these pizzas taste almost like the real thing.

In fact, we couldnt believe that something so delicious could be gluten free and had to check the box again just to make sure.

Udis Gluten Free Pizza With Arugula And Truffle Oil

Gluten Free Pizza with Udi’s Crust

Who doesnt love pizza? It is festive, it brings people together, and it is delicious. Now I totally understand if you feel like you cant eat it for one dietary choice for another, and those of us who are gluten-free are definitely in that group. When you go gluten-free you definitely miss pizza.

The past 2 times that I have returned to Florence, Italy to visit my previous home and my friends that still live there, I have definitely met the challenge of pizza. You see, I am not celiac so I can eat glutinous foods if I choose to, but I definitely have my own adverse reactions, which is why I generally choose to avoid gluten. But, when given the choice, it is REALLY hard to refuse a wood fire/brick oven pizza freshly made with mozzarella di buffalo, fresh arugula and shavings of parmagiano reggiano.

Fresh out of the fires…

1/4 c pizza sauce 8 cilegine fresh mozzarella balls, cut in half 1/2 c fresh baby arugula chopped into bite size pieces5 shavings of parmagiano reggiano cheesesalt and pepper to tastewhite truffle oil

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Once the oven has reached the desired temp, place Udis pizza crust in the oven directly on the oven rack and warm for 4 minutes. The crust should just begin to brown.

Remove from the oven and place the crust on a baking sheet or pizza stone. Distribute the pizza sauce over the crust and then place the mozzarella halves evenly over the pizza.

Slice and enjoy!

How Do You Make Gluten

Udi’s Pepperoni Pizza Review

During quarantine last year, I did my fair share of making gluten-free pizzas from scratch . I started by making rice flour crusts. They eventually worked out, but the dough did not bind together as well as regular pizza dough. . Eventually, I decided to take a different approach and began baking with Bob’s Red Mill gluten-free bread flour, which became my favorite method.

This crust is naturally dairy-free, using extra-virgin olive oil, honey, and warm water as the wet ingredients. The dry ingredients include gluten-free bread flour, baking powder, and salt, making this crust allergen-friendly and simple to bake. A good gluten-free pizza is all about the dough. There are plenty of pizza crust recipes out there, but most of them include dry yeast, and since that’s not something I keep in my pantry at all times, here is my favorite gluten-free, yeast-free pizza crust!

I usually par-bake extra crusts to cook later when I am in a rush, so next time I want a yummy pizza, I can just pull it out of the freezer, add sauce and cheese, and bake! To make the pizza baking process even faster, you can bake the pizza in an outdoor pizza oven once the dough is made.

Unless eating gluten free leads to making healthier choices, eating overly processed sugary gluten free foods can still lead to weight gain. Going gluten free with your pizza delivery isnt the same as going low-cal or low-carb, since you re still eating cheese, sauce, and most likely other tasty toppings.

Is Gluten

Aside from not containing gluten, gluten-free pizza is not different than regular pizza. Gluten-free or not, pizza still contains a high number of calories, fat, and sodium per serving, and overconsumption can result in an increased risk of weight gain, obesity, and various chronic diseases. If you are looking for a healthier alternative to pizza, consider making one from scratch as most pizzas, as frozen pizzas are often highly processed.
