Papa Murphy’s and Boulder Brands, the makers of Udi’s Gluten Free branded products, today announced a partnership to bring Udi’s Gluten Free pizza crust to Papa Murphy’s locations. Papa Murphys stores will begin offering the gluten-free option this month and customers can order it with any toppings on a 12-inch Udis crust.
“There is a clear and growing demand for gluten-free offerings in the marketplace and we are pleased to partner with Udi’s Gluten Free Foods giving customers a high quality, gluten-free option that fits their lifestyle,” Papa Murphys CEO Ken Calwell said in a news release. “Fresh ingredients and a variety of premium toppings are hallmarks of our brand, which we believe pairs perfectly with Udi’s commitment to tasty, high quality products.”
The company notes that the certified gluten-free crust is topped in a shared kitchen that also handles ingredients with gluten.
Partnership with CBS EcoMedia
Papa Murphys also announced this week that it is funding the distribution of free backpacks filled with school-ready supplies to 1,200 low income Saracramento, California-area students. The funding for the supplies comes from Papa Murphys participation in CBS EcoMedias EducationAd program.
EcoMedias national non-profit partner, the Kids In Need Foundation, provided the school supplies and backpacks through its School Ready Supplies Program, according to a news release.

Mmmm, pizza.
Once upon a time, when we didnt know then what we know now about the depth of our food intolerances, there was such fun in our lives called Pizza Night.
Most of the time it was homemade. Occasionally it was Trader Joes whole wheat crust.
Once in a while it was Papa Murphys take and bake.
And we all looked forward to it.
Then I began making it gluten free.
And we were mostly happy with the results. I mean, mostly ok. Most of us.
It took time to land on what reliably worked each time, and as I look back Im thinking that perhaps we didnt nail one because we kind of just stopped homemade pizza night.
And I miss it. For sure if mama misses it, other people miss it.
Then seven months ago I began eating grain free because my health depended upon it.
I dont miss it . Not for a second.
Until one night about 6 weeks ago when I decided:
a) I wanted pizza, and,
b) I had no idea how I would pull it off.
The two recipes I found called for 5 cups and 8 cups of shredded zucchini each.
I had 1 cup.
At this point, however, I was in the world of Expectations as people under my roof were excited for the possibility of pizza. There was no looking back.
Admittedly, the first time I made it I threw 1/2 cup of Pamelas Mix in to make the difference because I was so afraid it wouldnt turn out.
Until it did, so I tried again without Pam and it was soggy. The third run was the money run, my friends. I had successfully created a grain free pizza crust.
