Create A Pumpkin Loaf Cake For Your Kids

Activ8Me – Box of Health

Loaf cakes are often another food that many celiac sufferers believe they wont get again. That isnt the case anymore. You can make your own loaf cakes, and there are so many different flavours to try. Banana loaves tend to be the most popular for breakfasts, but what about a pumpkin one? Try this around the autumn, when the pumpkins are in season.

Buying Guide For Best Nutrition Shakes For Kids

When youre a parent, compiling a lengthy list of worries is part of the job description. Proper nutrition likely tops the list if your child is below the growth curve. And unlike many other fears, this one is rational. Nutritional shakes can help children meet needs for vitamins, minerals, and other essentials that arent being filled by their diet.

Some children lose significant weight during an extended illness. Some have physical or developmental challenges that make eating difficult. Others are just picky. Regardless of the reason, your childs growing body needs calories. Experts say that low calorie intake is to blame in most cases where children drop weight or fail to gain at an appropriate rate.

Nutritional shakes for children come in mouth-watering flavours to entice even the most finicky palate. But the shake thats best for your child depends upon their food preferences and any gaps in their individual diet.

Have Granola Bars Ready For The Drive

What about making a breakfast idea a few days in advance? Thats something you can do with granola bars, but doesnt that mean youre eating gluten?

Unfortunately, traditional granola isnt gluten friendly, but you can get gluten free friendly options. It just means shopping around in the gluten free aisle in the grocery store.

But what if I said that you could make your own? Theres no need to go search for anything that tends to have a lot of added sugar. All youll need to make sure is that the oats you have are celiac disease friendly.

Just click on the drink name and youll be taken directly to its recipe page so that you can make it yourself. Also, next to most drinks youll see either a vegan, paleo, dairy-free, or soy-free label. I only placed labels on the drinks that Im 100% sure are paleo, vegan, etc. If the drink doesnt have a label, that doesnt mean that they arent. I just wasnt completely sure. Thanks for understanding!

How Do You Serve These Fun Drinks For Your Kids

When Im making these for my family only, I generally make them in individual glasses. Its quick and easy. Also, the kids can easily make their own which they love doing as well.

However, if you are throwing a large New Years Eve party , you can create a larger batch in a punch bowl for everyone to enjoy.

I would put a large amount of cotton candy in the punch bowl and fill the rest of the bowl up with the ginger ale. I like to taste test it once its done and add more cotton candy if it needs more sweetness.

Fitting In With The Family At Meal Times

New Healthy Drink for Kids of All Ages

A common question is whether the whole family should follow a gluten-free diet. The general answer is that as long as the gluten can be contained and the coeliac family member is not put at risk, the rest of the family can continue to follow a normal diet. To avoid cross-contamination at home:

  • make most pantry basics gluten-free
  • have a clearly designated gluten-free toaster slot
  • use pantry stickers or red and green-coloured sticky dots to identify safe and unsafe foods, and to label storage jars
  • watch for crumbs in the butter and jam

What Parties Can You Serve This Cotton Candy Drink At

Can You Make Easy Gluten Free Snacks For Kids

Making gluten free snacks for your children to enjoy at home and at school is easier than youd think. A lot of traditional favorites in the snack world are gluten free naturally. This means that your kid can continue to enjoy staples like peanut butter and jelly, or chocolate and popcorn, as long as youre careful to avoid certain grains.

Another point to keep in mind when youre building gluten free snacks for your children, is that lactose, the sugar in dairy products, can sometimes be a common side issue for people with celiac disease. However, intolerance to lactose in people with a gluten sensitivity can sometimes improve over time as their intestine heals.

Before making any changes to your childs diet, make sure that you speak to a doctor about their specific needs. This is particularly important if you know that your child has an intolerance to certain foods. Your doctor will be able to offer extra advice on how to help your child make the most of their new diet.

Fresh Fruits Or Vegetables For The Gluten

This might seem like a no-brainer because all fresh fruits and vegetables are inherently gluten free. However, lets make sure your kiddos will actually love and eat something from this department! Ive had success with these.

1. Sliced Apples with Sprinkled Cinnamon This is still my sons favorite. In kindergarten we started out peeling the apples, and Im happy to report that by the third grade, the apple skin is now acceptable to him. 2. Peeled Carrots A sweet and crunchy carrot is a stapleand rarely turned down! 3. Oranges and Tangerines Citrus is especially sweet at the peak of its season, during the winter months. If theyre available in your area, I highly recommend Sumo tangerines. Theyre ideal for lunch boxes because theyre super easy to peel & seedless, and kids love them.4. Crudités Yep, you read it right. That means a handful of raw veggies! Just add a small container of ranch dressing on the side, and your kids will be on board.5. Fruit Kebabs These are totally fun and can be made with your childs favorites! Heres a pretty example.

How Do You Make These Drinks For Kids Party

You are not going to believe how easy this recipe is to create for your family. Its only 2 ingredients and probably takes less than 2 minutes to prepare for your kids!

First, I place one piece of cotton candy in the drinking glass that I plan on serving this fun drink in. I have used regular glass but its also fun to use champagne flutes for older kids when you dont have to worry about them accidentally breaking them.

After this pour the ginger ale over the cotton candy in the drink. It will dissolve the cotton candy immediately but it will dispense the cotton candy throughout the beverage.

Then I place a cherry in the glass or garnish the top with more cotton candy.

Serve immediately and watch all the kids be impressed at this delicious and festive drink that you just created for them.

Yesit really is that easy! There are no excuses as to why you cant create this for your family as well!

Yummiest Gluten Free Desserts For Kids

Here are some of the gluten-free desserts for kids that we considered for this category.

While we appreciated the generosity of Flax 4 Life and Swerve Sweet to send us so many gluten-free samples to taste test none of them scored an average score higher than a 3.6. So while some judges found them to be yummy, most found them to be just okay. As a result, we are asking our judges to tell us their favorite gluten-free desserts for kids.

Yum Actually

Yum Actually makes a healthier ice cream option for kids! Our ice cream cups contain a full serving of a fruit or a vegetable and are 40% lower in sugar than other leading ice cream brands. All flavors are gluten-free. They launched earlier this year and are currently sold in 60 retailers in NYC and New Jersey. They were a little harder for us to judge as a team because while Yum actually has 4 varieties, they did not come in variety packs. Each of our judges had one flavor to sample.

What we found is that the vegetable flavors were not a hit, but the fruity flavors were enjoyed more. The yummy mango and creamy honey banana each had a smooth texture like sherbet but a smooth taste like ice cream or pudding. They are not currently available online or at Amazon but they are available at select store in New York. Learn more at their website.

Chocolate Chip Quinoa Granola Bars

Chocolate Chip Quinoa Granola Bars by I Food Real

Granola bars are a lunchbox staple, but many store-bought granola bars contain artificial ingredients and often have more sugar than chocolate bars! This recipe, however, is packed with fibre, protein and nutritious fats, which results in a tasty yet nutritious snack.

Peanut Butter And Jelly Oatmeal Breakfast Bars

When it comes to enjoying a PB& J, no child should be left behind because of food allergies. If you nix the bread and replace it with gluten-free oats, your kids can enjoy the timeless snack duo too. Choose natural peanut butter for healthier results or almond butter if your child has a peanut allergy.

Parents love that animal crackers are portable, and kids love how they taste and look. However, most store-bought versions are high in sugar and off-limits to gluten-free kids. Enlist the kids to help you make your own zoo using gluten-free flour, molasses, vanilla, and cinnamon.
