Orange Bundt Cake Recipe

Orange bundt cakes are knowns for their sweet and citrus taste. They are loved by the young and the old equally.

This bundt cake recipe is close to my heart. It was the very first recipe my mother taught me long before I became gluten-intolerant. Every spring, she would make about three orange bundt cakes and send them to her brothers and sisters. If you would ask our friends and family, they will tell you that nothing beats my mother’s orange bundt cake.

The recipe for gluten-free orange bundt cake that I’m sharing with you today is an adaptation of my mum’s recipe. I have altered many ingredients and changed the ratios to achieve the fluffy, light, and moist texture that bundt cakes are known for. Therefore, you would notice that to make this recipe gluten-free, I had to create my own gluten-free flour mix using white rice flour, tapioca flour, and brown rice flour.

How To Make This Paleo Pumpkin Cake

This cake really is a breeze to throw together!

First, preheat your oven and use cooking spray to coat the inside of your bundt pan. I cant stress how important it is to make sure your pan is very non-stick!

Second, mix together the wet ingredients in one bowl and the dry in a separate one.

Combine the wet and dry ingredients and pour the batter into the bundt pan.

Bake, cool, and release the cake from the pan so it can cool completely.

Releasing the cake can be tricky, so make sure you do it slowly and carefully to avoid the cake breaking.

While the cake cools, prepare the icing. Make sure the cake is cooled, then drizzle it all over with the icing.

Done! Super simple and a big payoff because its sooooo delicious!

Tips For Baking In A Bundt Pan

Gluten

Baking in a bundt pan is perhaps the biggest challenge for a high protein almond-flour based cake. I have a few tips for you and it works PERFECTLY! .

  • OR my new method: Use a generous amount of butter, hitting every crevice.
  • Freeze the pan once butter is applied.
  • After baking, cool for fifteen minutes. This is important.
  • Using either a butter knife or offset spatula, go around the sides making sure the cake is lifting.
  • Make a cardboard template to slip down onto the cake to hold it in place while you are releasing the cake. This way, the cake wont suddenly drop! Place the top over cake, hold with one hand and turn over. You can also use a cake board or anything like that to put over cake when you turn it over,
  • Slide onto your cake pan and leave it there, until cake is completely cooled. This is not a perfect cut-out, but it doesnt have to be.
  • Do not touch cake until it has cooled or it will break.
  • Freeze: You can freeze cake at this point, after cooling, wrapping well into plastic. Take out 24 hours in advance to defrost in refrigerator, bringing temperature down slowly. In a pinch, I have defrosted, by leaving on counter, but take off the plastic.

This is what you want your bundt cake to look like when you turn it over!

There are a few decisions to make about this cake. Fresh or frozen raspberries. Seeds or not seeds. Heavy cream cheese glaze a cream cheese glaze or a water glaze.

Nothing Bundt Cakes Flavors Ranked Worst To Best

Bundt cakes refer to cakes that have been baked in a special donut-shaped pan. The pans often have unique patterns within the round shape and can create everything from simple circles to beautiful terraced creations. This type of cake has its origins in Europe, where it was likely inspired by the Gugelhupf cake of Central Europe .

While the Gugelhupf is a yeast-based cake often cooked with raisins, bundt cakes in the United States are not linked to any particular recipe. They rose to popularity in the U.S. in the 1960s and have remained a popular cake for parties and formal gatherings.

Nothing Bundt Cakes was founded in 1997 by Dena Tripp and Debbie Shwetz, two women who were known among friends for their delicious bundt cakes. They now have locations all over the country and continue to be a fast-growing franchise. Their cakes are known for being flavorful, moist, and delicious. However, not every flavor can be a winner. Here are all the Nothing Bundt Cakes flavors ranked from worst to best.

How Long Is Nothing Bundt Cakes Copycat Recipe Good For

This Nothing Bundt Cakes copycat recipe seems to get better and better every day. It was good on day one, but it was fantastic a few days later. We’d recommend making it the day before you need it. If you really want to keep your Nothing Bundt Cakes copycat cake fresh, you’ll need to store it in the refrigerator, where it’s good for up to five days. It’s best to keep the cake whole and loosely wrap it in plastic wrap so it will stay as moist as possible. But, you could also store individual slices if you prefer.

If you still have leftovers , you can freeze them for up to three months. The best way to freeze this frosted bundt cake is to put it in the freezer for 15 minutes to set the frosting. Then, wrap it very tightly with a layer of plastic wrap. Finish by wrapping it in aluminum foil and store it in the freezer for up to three months. When you’re ready to eat, let the cake thaw in the refrigerator overnight.

It started with two women who just loved to bake for their friends and families. Today, its so much more than that: The growing chain now has franchises nationwide, and people love how they make their cakes with real eggs, butter, and cream cheese.
