This was my first taste of Ghostfish gluten free beer. Ghostfish is well known in the gluten free community but they are on the west coast. I had dreamt of traveling to Seattle to sit in their tap house. All the social media posts I have seen make them look so delicious.
Well, this beer does not disappoint. Their pale ale is one of their flagship gluten free beers and I can tell why. It has great flavor and exactly what I had expected. Straight deliciousness!
I gave a 4.5 due to availability. I live in Virginia but they only ship to DC! Luckily my brother-in-law helped me out. The beer was a bit pricey for 4 beers and shipping wasnt cheap, but it was worth it! I still plan to make the trip out west with Aimee to sit in their tap house and drink a few cold ones!

In a beer exchange, where I sent my friend Dave some beer, he sent this gluten free pale ale from Sibling Reverly Brewing. From what I can see, this is a regular brewery that brews this one craft gluten free beer as part of their big line up. and they have a ton of beers.
I will say I am very happy with this gluten free pale ale! Its more of an amber ale, so when I poured it, I was thrown off for a secondbut after that first sip all goodness! I appreciate a regular brewery giving the gluten free world some more options.

New Planet’s Pale Ale A Gluten
When we originally believed J to be intollerant to gluten and casein our family decided to make a collective move to a GFCF diet. As much as that entails, one detail that could not be overlooked was our time. That is, we want to ensure that most of the things we enjoy can be made up forsomewhere. What am I talking about? Beer.
C is a beer guy, Im more a wine or specific drink gal. But, we found, beer would not have to be compromised and that moving to gluten free doesnt mean you have to make compromises on your recreational adult activities.
Generally, there are main beer choices on the market from different brewers. Microbrews or independent, smaller companies are popping up as well. These are usually from individuals who needed to have a gluten free diet and found themselves dissatisfied with their choices.
New Planet, bottled in Boulder, Colorado is one such brewery. New Planet boasts on its packaging that its an Old style beer for new-style beer drinkers.You can tread lightly without any compromises. At this time, they hold two beer choices, Pale Ale and 3R Raspberry Ale. This review is for New Planets Tread Lightly Ale.
We set the beer up, poured it from the dark brown bottle to our glasses. The aroma which was stronger in the bottle was subtle and non-overbearing in the glass. Golden in color, no overwhelming carbonation, it looked to be promisingand the taste delivered!

Stone Brewing reached out to me and sent me this to try. Ill be up front about that. This is the first time thats happened with any beer on my list. Im not complaining, who doesnt like free beer?
It is Stone Brewings second gluten removed beer so keep that in mind. I was pleasantly surprised by this refreshing gluten removed beer! It is an IPA, but is such a light IPA taste and really smooth. This reminds me of a Michelob Ultra, but actually tastes like a beer. Its a light IPA??? I didnt know that would be a thing, but Stone has made it a thing. If you dont like the normal strong IPA taste, you may like this.
This is a low calorie beer that is going to give other low calorie beers and welters like white claw a run for their money! Im interested to see how this beer does on the market.

Product Review: New Planet Beer

Theres a new entrant to the gluten-free beer market: New Planet Beer. Based in Boulder, Colorado, the company is brand spankin new, and founded by Pedro Gonzalez, who has Celiac, and his wife, Seneca Murley. New Planet eventually plans to offer a suite of GF beers in different styles, but for now, just one has made it to market: Tread Lightly Ale. The company describes it as an American-style Pilsner.
I spoke with Pedro several weeks ago, and in his words, the beer is still in a prototype phase. Although the beer has officially launched and is publicly available , hes continuing to tweak the recipe to develop a beer hes more satisfied with. Hell probably need plenty of input from the target demographic as well, so he can look at ways to improve the beer to suit what his customers need. Online survey tools, like the ones Qualtrics provides, can be really useful for this kind of thing. He might already know that though! I was planning to hold off on writing a review until Pedro had settled on a finished product, but New Planet has emerged in the media a bit lately, and so I opted to write a review now in the event that people are wondering what this beer tastes like.

Gluten Free Pale Ale Brewed In Colorado
New Planet has relaunched their gluten free beer offerings! Recipes have been changed and packaging has been updated, so I thought it was time to give this review a makeover. Today Im pouring the New Planet Pale Ale.
The current gluten free Pale Ale is brewed on a malt base of millet, gluten free oats, and corn. It has a 6% ABV and its packaged in 12 ounce cans. Last time I reviewed this beer it was still packaged in 12 ounce bottles. Its amazing how quickly glass bottles have vanished from the beer industry.
Before we got on to the beer pour, I want you to know that New Planet also makes a gluten free Blonde Ale. Both of these offerings are brewed with gluten free ingredients. New Planet also used to make a line of gluten reduced beers but I believe those are a thing of the past.

Gluten Free Blonde Ale
Its been some time since I last reviewed a New Planet beer. They used to brew both gluten reduced beers and gluten free beers brewed with all gluten free ingredients. Since then, they seem to have consolidated their offerings to two gluten FREE offerings: a Pale Ale and a Blonde Ale.
I am personally pretty happy with this change. Not just because I only drink gluten free beers these days, but also because it causes far less confusion amongst gluten free consumers. When breweries brew and sell both, Im concerned that Celiacs will grab a gluten reduced by mistake. Now you dont have to worry!
Todays review is for their gluten free Blonde Ale. This is a 4.8% ABV blonde brewed in Denver Colorado. Its made with a combination of malted millet, gluten free oats, and corn. These two flagship offerings are packaged in 12 ounce cans.

New Planet Blonde Ale
The New Planet Blonde Ale pours with a sunshine gold color and 100% clarity! Its so clear that a surgeon could perform surgery through this beer. The clarity reveals a beautiful display of carbonation and the beer pours with a nice head.
Its aroma carries malty flavors of corn and biscuit. It has a faintly sweet smell and not much hoppiness on the nose. The first taste reveals a bright and mildly sweet blonde thats heavy on the malt and faint on the hops.
To be honest, the overall taste reminds me of chicha . This isnt a total shock as it is brewed with corn, but the mild hop presence makes it more obvious.
When this gluten free blonde ale first hits your lips, you immediately notice a crisp and light breadiness, largely carried by the carbonation. By mid-tongue, theres a bit of fruitiness that fades into a slightly drier finish. The extremely low bitterness allows lots of malt flavor to linger on the tongue.
My favorite part about this Blonde Ale is its body. It has a great mouthfeel and a perfect carbonation level. The carbonation continues to dance up the center of the glass. I find myself watching itsort of a fishtank effect. Ha!
I feel like the aroma reveals this beer is brewed with millet, the taste hints at its corn, and perhaps the gluten free oats can take credit for the body that I appreciate.
I have another review coming for them too. This next one will be for their gluten free Pale Ale, so stay tuned!

Bards gluten free beer is one of those gluten free beers that I have seen on social media and around the inter websbut never seemed to get my hands on it. Before I tasted it, it seemed to have that Simpsons vibe to it you know Drink Duff Beer vibe. After drinking it it, I still do feel a little like Homer Simpson, but in a good way if that makes sense. I gave it a 3.5 out of 5 because it has a smooth light beer taste to it, but is definitely a gluten free beer for dads.
I can definitely see myself day drinking Bards while I cut the lawn and do various dad duties around the house. My outdoor deck needs to be stained in a few daysIll be drinking a Bards while Im working. Its that kind of beer in my mind. It is ever so slightly more expensive, but its maybe 50 cents higher in cost. Overall, very happy I have another six pack lined up for when I get to staining my deck this weekend!

Why Is Gluten Free Beer So Bad
It is common for gluten-free beers to be produced on lines that also produce traditional beer containing barley or wheat. Using the same equipment in manufacturing gluten-free or allergen items makes cross contamination a possibility, just like with non-gluten-free or allergen items purchased off the rack.

Glutenberg White is my favorite gluten free beer right now. I gave it a 4.9 just because nothing is perfect and giving it a 5 would mean it could never get better. Its damn close.
I really enjoy the taste of Glutenberg White. Its super smooth. Not filling. Great flavor. I could drink this all day long. I have to be careful with this one. The variety of ingredients they put in it such as buckwheat, millet, amaranth , quinoa, hops, coriander, and orange peel is intriguing. That crazy combo of ingredients makes some damn good beer. Id argue that this gluten free beer is better than any beer regardless of category. There! I said it! Prove me wrong, accepting all challengers!
