How To Make Quinoa Pizza
There are just a few simple steps to making this gluten-free pizza crust. First, we have to soak our quinoa. Soaking the quinoa will allow it to soften enough so that it’s easy to blend and creates a smooth batter.
Next, we’ll have to rinse the quinoa and add all our ingredients to our blender.
These are the ingredients you need for this recipe:
- Quinoa: you’ll want uncooked quinoa for this recipe any variety will work, but white gives you the most traditional pizza color and taste.
- Water: this is just used to help blend the quinoa. I’ve also used hummus to make it higher protein!
- Baking powder: I add a little baking powder to add some air bubbles, but you can skip it if you want.
- Sea salt: a touch of salt helps heighten all the flavors of the crust and pizza!
- Olive Oil: and olive oil is used just to give the pizza a bit of fat . If you’re oil-free, you can skip it!
Once you’ve got all your ingredients in the blender, blend it up until it’s completely smooth. Then pour your patter onto your prepared pan and smooth it over with your spatula.
Bake the pizza crust for about 15 minutes, then flip it over and bake another 10 15 minutes.
Final step: top your pizza with your desired toppings, pop it back in the oven and let everything cook/melt. Slice it up and you’re ready to eat!

Gluten free pizza crust can be really hard to get right. Pretty much all of them that Ive tried have different textures and different tastes. I would characterize my gluten free pizza crust recipe as buttery and chewy.
And dont even get me started on eating the cold pizza leftovers the next day, which is one of the best things about pizza, right?! Some mixes were better than others, but I felt like they all lacked something important and I was beginning to think I would never eat satisfying pizza again.

Theres A Bit Of A Burning Smell When Im Dry Frying My Gluten Free Pizza Base
As weve just rolled out the pizza base on a floured surface, when we transfer the rolled out dough to the frying pan, you can easily transfer dusty bits of flour with it.
This dusty flour will cook pretty quick in a hot, dry frying pan and start to burn. Its best to clean out your frying pan every now and then if you start to notice a build up of brown dusty flour.

Amazing Vegan Gluten Free Pizza
- sprinkle of fresh or dried basil
- 1package active dry yeast
- 1cupwarm waterwarm but not hot. If you can comfortably leave your finger in it you should be ok
- 1cupamaranth flour
- 1 1/4cupsbrown rice flour
- 2tbspground flaxseed
- 1pinchred pepper flakes
- 1tbspagave nectar
- 1 tspapple cider vinegar
- 1can tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
- 1/2tspdried oregano
- 1 pinch red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tspsalt
- In a small bowl, combine all ingredients. Set aside.
- Place all ingredients in a blender and process until completely smooth. Transfer to a small saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring almost constantly with a whisk until thick and smooth.
- If you start heating the veggies, then make the dough, then make the sauce and cheese, it should all come together pretty smoothly. Once youve got your cheese mixed you can roll out and pre-bake the dough for about 60-90 seconds. Then heat your cheese until it thickens. You can then assemble the pizzas sauce, cheese, toppings. Slide the assembled pizza back onto the heated skillet and bake for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cheese just starts to brown. Remove from the oven and let cool while you cook the second pizza. Let cool, slice, and serve.
My Dough Was Too Wet And Sticky To Roll What Should I Do
Firstly, its supposed to be a little sticky as a formed dough in the bowl. As long as youre able to bring it together into a ball, when you start rolling it out on a floured surface, the extra flour should make sure it doesnt stick to your surface, hands or rolling pin.
Theres only two main ingredients here so measuring them out correctly is really important. Itll stop you from adding in too much yoghurt in the first place and making the dough too wet!
But of course, if you have added too much yoghurt by accident, you can always just add a little extra flour until its the correct consistency.

Giant health supermarket chain Whole Foods produces a vegan gluten-free frozen pizza as part of its 365 house brand. The pizza does not use faux cheeseinstead, it’s topped with roasted vegetables.
Whole Foods bills its vegan gluten-free frozen pizza as having “no gluten ingredients” rather than “gluten-free” because it’s not tested for gluten cross-contamination and it’s produced in a facility that also makes gluten-based products. Toppings like squash, zucchini, baby spinach and arugula are all great, low FODMAP friendly options to top your veggie pizza with.
- For Deep Dish Tomato Pie: This option is close to my heart. I first learned about tomato pie from my Italian grandfather who very passionately believed this was the only acceptable way to eat a pizza. I have to say, I do not disagree!
