Gluten Free Chex Granola Mix: Honey Nut

Top 10 Gluten Free Grocery Hacks: Cheap enough for the whole family

Per cup: 130 calories, 4 g fat , 35 mg sodium, 20 g carbs , 2 g protein

Not That!: It might be lower in calories, but Chex’s gluten-free granola is also lacking where it matters: on the protein and fiber front. We’re also not pleased by Chex’s addition of BHT: University of California-Berkeley researchers say this petroleum-derived antioxidant is linked to an increased risk of cancer in animals. It’s hard to say whether these effects would be prevalent in humans, but experts say to avoid it as much as possible to err on the side of caution.

Marks And Spencer Hot Chocolate Fudge Pudding

But when you look closer youll actually see that it has a gluten free logo on the box!

And when I posted this on Instagram recently, it was a MASSIVE hit.

Its just with all the regular desserts in the chiller, but youll have to beat me there first as I will usually stock up on these for my freezer!

Whole Foods

Whole Foods has KILLED me! The selection has gotten worse–especially gluten free products through the years. I rarely stop in a Whole Foods anymore and when I do I’m left disappointed. The other day I stopped in for some dairy free heavy whipping cream and was SHOCKED to find they didn’t have it. Of all places, Whole Foods would have it, right?! Their selection of gluten free ready made products has also dwindled. While they occasionally might have a few unique products I can’t find at other stores, I could easily order it somewhere else for a comparable price. I HATE saying this about Whole Foods because they used to be one of my FAVORITE stores to go to. I really enjoyed that they would carry fun seasonal gluten free and other food allergy friendly finds. I can’t find those much anymore.

Duncan Hines Gf Vanilla Creme Cake

The Best Gluten Free Foods in NZ Grocery Stores: My Picks

Per 1/16 package : 210 calories, 9 g fat , 150 mg sodium, 32 g carbs , 2 g protein

Not That!: Like we said before, “gluten-free” should not be synonymous with “healthy.” This is the perfect example of that. Duncan Hines’ cake mix is gluten-free, but that doesn’t erase the negatives of stuffing a cake full of shortening, sugar, inflammatory carrageenan, artificial flavor, and artificial dyes Yellow 5 and Yellow 6.

Wicked Kitchen Chocolate Orange Slices

Hiding in with the ‘normal’ cakes are these gluten free and vegan Wicked Kitchen Chocolate Orange Slices.

I believe they’re pretty new this week and despite being with the normal cakes they have a gluten free sticker on the front.

They sound lovely with a chocolate orange buttercream and zesty orange pieces on top so I picked some up to try this week.

I love the idea of more vegan products being gluten free, especially as a lot of them seem to be appearing in place of the free from products!

They look safe for dairy and egg allergies too as there are no ‘may contain’ warnings on there apart from nuts and peanuts.

How We Tested Gluten

A range of nationally available gluten-free breads were tested by various members of our BBC Good Food editorial team. The breads were all served blind, so that no brand prejudice could play a part in the judging. The breads were served both plain and with various condiments, and tasters were encouraged to cleanse the palate between tastings. We scored the bread against the following criteria.

Taste: Although taste can be subjective when it comes to bread, we looked for a soft loaf that doesn’t overcompensate with too much sugar or seasoning. Quite simply, we looked for a bread that tastes as good as, if not better, than ‘normal’ varieties.

Texture and rise: Often, free-from breads can lack in variety and can also be overly dense. We searched for something lightweight with a good rise and colour.

Presentation and structure: The sign of a poor-quality gluten-free bread is being over crumbly, so it falls apart when sliced. While many supermarket breads come pre-sliced, texture remains important for a satsifying mouthful, so we ruled out loaves that wouldn’t hold together after being portioned.

But theres one problem how do you know an accidentally gluten-free product when you see one? Fortunately, Im about to show you the 34 accidentally gluten-free products in UK supermarkets right now.

How Should Survival Food Be Stored

My Favorite Things: Gluten Free Grocery Haul [Best Gluten Free Foods List]

Survival food should be kept in a regulated temperature area: the attic or basement are not the best places, as they can become too hot or cold. It should be placed on a shelf, rather than on the floor, in case of flooding. Survival food should also be kept in airtight watertight containers to help keep out insects or rodents and water.
