WEIGHT WATCHERS GREEN PLAN MEAL PREP FOR THE WEEK! GLUTEN-FREE| ALL MEALS

WeightWatchers, also now known as WW, has recently rebranded. The rebranding of WW stems away from the term diet, focusing instead on permanent lifestyle changes. Using a point system, WW avoids calorie counting to help users experience a new mindset when it comes to tracking food. The new WW has over 200 zero-point foods like lean chicken, fruits, vegetables and even hot sauce.

With their rebranding, WW has allowed individuals with all types of dietary needs to have the freedom to eat what best suits their needs, including those on a gluten-free diet.

Its more than possible to eat gluten free on the WW plan. In fact, WW provides members with hundreds of recipes that can be modified as needed. To make it easier on the gluten-free community, WW supplies recipes specifically labeled gluten free.

On the WW app and website, you can find gluten-free recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and snacks. These include a Goat Cheese, Spinach and Tomato Omelet, Greek Yogurt with Warm Blueberry Sauce, and Shrimp and Black Bean Tostadas with Crudite and Salsa. You can find sample WW meal plans here.

In a small bowl, combine the coconut oil and vanilla extract. Mix into the banana mixture.

In a medium-sized bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add flour mixture to the banana mixture and mix until just combined and no dry patches of flour remain.

What’s With The Weight Watchers Recipes

Each of these miniature bagels has about 2 1/2 SmartPoints , which I figure you have to round up to 3 SmartPoints but you can have 2 of them for 5. It’s like they’re on a two-fer sale! I care about things like that now a bit, and I thought you might, too. Here’s why

When I first wrote my cookbook, Gluten Free Classic Snacks, I was intrigued by copycatting some Weight Watchers-style foods like their brownies. They were so good, but they weren’t available as gluten free, so I made them gluten free.

I have 3 children and although I’ve always been disgustingly naturally thin, I was never really quite the same after the third child12 years ago. I’ve always hated it, but sort of chalked it up to early middle age and went on my way.

I also have 2 daughters, who are both rather naturally thin themselves, but I wasn’t raised with a healthy attitude toward food or weight or anything else really for that matter. I was terrified of my girls inheriting my somewhat distorted way of thinking, so I never complain about my body or my weight in front of them.

When a dear friend mentioned that she was on Weight Watchers for similar reasons to me , I thought I’d give it a try for a month. I literally haven’t mentioned a word of it my daughters, though. They never read the blog , so I figure I’m good.

What Makes This Recipe For Ww Gluten Free Bagels So Special

These bagels have become Internet famous because they’re diet friendly, for sure. But the real reasons you’ll fall in love with them are the ease and the taste!

The perfect tang of Greek-style plain yogurt takes the place of an aged yeast bread dough and makes them super tender inside. They may not be classic New York-style dense and chewy bagels, but they’re in a class by themselves!

Tips For Working With This 2

30 Gluten Free Weight Watchers Recipes with Smart Points

This dough is quite easy to work with, and happily quite difficult to ruin. Even when you’re working with conventional gluten-containing flour to make a similar recipe to this, you’ll see on other blogs that the raw dough isn’t smooth.

During shaping, the dough does tend to separate a bit from itself, creating cracks. I recommend kneading the dough to integrate it well after mixing, and then pinching the cracks together if they do form during shaping. Then, continue rolling and shaping it.

You really don’t need a lot of additional flour to shape these rolls, though. If you do add way too much flour during shaping, you will end up with tough bread. That’s always the case when working with bread dough.

As you might have guessed, the garlic butter you see me brushing on top isn’t really Weight Watchers-friendly. But only 2 melted tablespoons are plenty to cover all 8 breadsticks.

Add some garlic salt and you’ll swear you were eating my yeasted Olive Garden-style gluten free soft breadsticks. Those are the stuff that dreams are made of! ?

About This Gluten Free Banana Muffins Recipe

These Weight Watchers muffins are just 3 points each. They have no refined sugar and are made with gluten-free flour.

Gluten-free banana muffins are a fantastic treat if you have a family member who is gluten intolerant. Gluten should be avoided in such circumstances and its great to bake healthy banana muffins that all your family and friends can enjoy.

But even if youre not gluten intolerant, these are healthier than other muffin recipes and every bit as delicious.

Sugar and vegetable oil are swapped out for healthier applesauce and coconut oil. This is one of my favorite Weight Watchers muffin recipes because its healthy and doesnt require any hard-to-find ingredients.

If youre keen to try something new, this Weight Watchers banana muffin recipe is for you!

Gluten Free Dairy Free Weight Watchers Bagels

I am happy to report that I have made this recipe successfully with dairy-free plain coconut milk yogurt. So Delicious makes a really great one, and I find it at my local natural foods store.

Since the dairy-free variety was not a Greek-style yogurt, I found that I had to use 1 1/4 cups of the all purpose gluten free flour blend, and did not add the egg white. The bagels browned a bit less , and the dough was a bit harder to handle .

But the taste and overall texture were great. In addition, since the dairy-free plain yogurt was not fat-free, you’d have to recalculate the SmartPoints value.

If you can only use a plain yogurt of any kind that isn’t Greek-style, you can either add 1/4 cup more all purpose gluten free flour or strain the yogurt until it’s thick enough to be Greek-style. Then, measure out 1 cup of the thicker yogurt and 1 cup of the flour blend.

What Gluten Free Flour Blend To Use In This Recipe

I have only tried this recipe using Better Batter and my Better Than Cup4Cup all purpose gluten free flour recipes. I’m planning to try variations on this dough made with Paleo flours, but I’m not there quite yet! I will be sure to keep you posted.

As always, I recommend you only use one of my recommended all purpose gluten free flour blends, either commercially available or homemade according to my DIY recipes. If you use a gritty rice flour blend or an unbalanced blend, the recipe just won’t likely turn out. All gluten free flour blends are not created equal.

Weight Watchers Smart Points Explained

The Weight Watchers Freestyle program includes a customized SmartPoints budget that guides people to make healthy choices without banning any foods. Every food and drink is assigned a point value based on the foods calories, sugar, saturated fat, and protein.

WW also identifies certain foods as ZeroPoint, which means they have identified these items as those that provide a foundation for healthy eating. These foods do not get counted against the SmartPoints budget, so users are free to eat as much of these ZeroPoint foods as they like.

And with foods like skinless chicken breast, eggs and beans included in the over 200 foods that have been designated as ZeroPoints, people following the WW Freestyle program report experiencing less hunger, fewer cravings, weight loss, and more happiness.

And the best part? Even people not following the WW Freestyle program can reap these same benefits by cooking up tasty and healthful meals likes my Weight Watchers Instant Pot Recipes. Yeap.

Bagel Dough To Pizza Dough

The Internet-famous recipe for this Weight Watchers-friendly bread dough is generally known as 2-ingredient dough. It’s made with 1 cup of plain 0% fat Greek-style yogurt and 1 cup of self-rising flour . To make it into gluten free bagels, I added an egg white and otherwise kept the recipe largely the same.

Most cooks who make this dough use it unchanged for pizza or any other bread dough. But when I tried using the same recipe, I found that it was super puffy, and seemed more like pita bread than pizza.

I reduced the amount of Greek yogurt to 3/4 of a cup, added some water and pierced the dough after rolling it out. That proved to be the perfect way to create a proper chewy, thin crust pizza.

What I Eat In A Day On Ww Green Plan

This post contains affiliate links. Its been two weeks since I rejoined WW. The first week, I wasnt on weight loss mode, just on the healthy plan so I could get used to it. This week I was on the weight loss plan, and Ill admit, I struggled quite a bit. But at the end of the week , I felt like I had finally gotten the hang of things. In fact, yesterday was the first day I used my daily points and only two weekly points, so I definitely think thats a success. Heres what I eat in a day on WW green plan :

Ww Is A Lifestyle Change

30 Gluten Free Weight Watchers Recipes with Smart Points

The best way to look at the WW point system is to pretend that points are money. If you are in your favorite clothing store, you may want to buy five new outfits but you can only afford two new outfits. Similarly, you may want five desserts but you only have enough points for two desserts.

You can still eat all your favorite gluten-free snacks that you love in moderation with point tracking. If your favorite gluten-free bread does not come up in the food search bar in the WW app, you can use the apps barcode scanner. Once you scan the item, the total number of points for a serving size of the bread will pop up on your screen and you can go forward with tracking.

You will find that some of your go-to foods are high in points, which can be eye-opening in making healthy changes to your existing diet.

When you have dietary restrictions, its difficult to find a weight loss program that doesnt cut out the foods that you need to get enough nutrients. With WW, you have the freedom to meet your needs while also losing weight and improving your lifestyle.
