Packaged Gluten Free Graham Crackers

Gluten Free Graham Crackers Recipe

You can buy packaged gluten free graham crackers. Kinnikinnick and Pamela’s brands both make crunchy gluten free graham crackers, but honestly I think they both taste terrible. Schar brand’s variety is much better, but super expensive.

If you are looking for that crispy graham cracker taste like Nabisco, you need our recipe for Nabisco-style gluten free graham crackers. They really do taste exactly like the real thing, and they’re just like you remember.

I don’t know of any brand of packaged gluten free graham crackers that is soft and tender. This recipe for soft gluten free graham crackers is made with a different balance of ingredients than our Nabisco crackers.

This style is perfect for layering with and milk chocolate for s’mores that don’t need to be heated at all. For a graham cracker crust, though, I recommend using the crunchy kind.

How To Make Gluten Free Graham Crackers:

  • Preheat oven: 325°F.
  • Mix together dry ingredients: Add flour, oat flour, coconut sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and salt to a large bowl of a stand mixer with a paddle attachment*. Turn on low to blend.
  • Add in wet ingredients: Add melted coconut oil, water, maple syrup, and vanilla extract to the bowl. Continue to mix until the dough is formed.
  • Roll out the dough: Transfer dough to a sheet tray lined with parchment paper. If your sheet tray has raised sides like mine, you will need to just place the parchment paper on the counter for now. Top the dough with another piece of parchment paper and start to roll out the dough into a large rectangle. The dough needs to be about 1/6-inch thick .
  • Cut into squares: Use a pizza cutter or knife to cut the dough into 3 squares. Using a fork, poke 2-3 sets of holes in each graham cracker.
  • Bake: Transfer the parchment paper and graham crackers to the sheet tray if you havent already. Bake for 20-22 minutes or until the graham crackers start to brown.
  • Cool: Allow graham crackers to cool. Once cool, use the pizza cutter or knife to go back over the cuts to separate the graham crackers.
  • Who knew making homemade graham crackers would be so easy and so delicious!?

What are some of your favorite ways to eat graham crackers?

I cant wait to hear about it and hope you love these vegan and gluten free graham crackers as much as my family does!

    How To Make Cheesecake Jars

Make the graham cracker crust layer. This is as easy as combining some finely crushed graham cracker crumbs with a little sugar for sweetness and melted butter to help it stick together and give a buttery taste. Once the graham cracker crumbs are evenly moistened just divide them between six 8-ounce jars.

Use a narrower flat-bottomed cup or the back of a spoon to help press the graham cracker crumbs into the bottom of the jars. I actually have a tamping tool that came with our blender that is perfect for this that I use.

Make the cheesecake layer for the filling. Start by beating softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract in a large bowl using an electric mixer until it is creamy and smooth. There’s not really a worry of overbeating like when you are making a traditional cheesecake recipe since this version won’t be baked!

Beat the heavy cream in another medium mixing bowl until medium peaks form. That just means that when you lift the beaters out of the whipped cream that it holds it shape but flops over a bit on top and isn’t too stiff. Don’t beat too long or you will end up with stiff peaks and the whipped cream won’t fold into the cream cheese filling quite as nicely.

You’ll get the best results and your cream will whip more easily using heavy cream that is very cold. Some people even like to chill the bowl and beaters they use to whip cream first.

How To Vegan Make Graham Crackers Extra Crispy

If you like your graham crackers on the softer side or want this recipe to be more cookie-like, follow the instructions as they are listed. However, if you want to add a bit more crunch, make sure to roll out the batter extra thin. For the best results you want it to be about 1/16th inch thick.

Or, if youd like a thicker cracker that still has a nice crunch, you can simply dry them out after baking. To do this, place them in a warm oven at a temperature between 190-200 degrees Fahrenheit for about an hour. Then, remove the crackers, and let them cool before serving.

Whichever method you choose, you should be left with golden-brown and perfectly crispy squares.

Can Graham Crackers For Smores Be Prepped Ahead Of Time & How To Store Them

Keto Graham Crackers Low Carb Sugar Free Gluten Free

Not only can these Gluten Free Graham Crackers be prepped ahead of time, I recommend doing so! After all, you never know when that craving for smores will strike. To keep your crackers fresh, be sure to let them cool completely after baking. Then, store them in an airtight container at room temperature.

If you opt for the fluffier version and choose not to dry out your crackers, they will stay crispy for roughly 2 days. However, if you dry your graham crackers, they will stay fresh for up to 2 weeks!

For even longer storage times, you can also freeze your graham crackers. Personally, I like to keep the dough on hand. However, they store well when baked, too. Both versions will stay fresh for up to 4 months in the freezer.

Easy Gluten Free Graham Cracker Recipe

Once you try this easy gluten free graham cracker recipe, you will never buy those expensive cardboard versions again. Theres nothing like a homemade graham cracker once youve given them a try, and the bonus is they are easy to make.

It’s camping season, friends and we have lived without good graham crackers for years. Honestly, these sweet treats turned out better than even I expected. The truth is, I thought this would be difficult with many versions of “not quite there” sweet crackers created and consumed, but not loved. Boy was I wrong. These crackers were not only exactly what we were looking for in the first round, but I tried them two ways with both versions being huge wins! You can even use them for a gluten free graham cracker crust if you are needing a gluten free pie crust.

Technically, graham crackers are made with graham flour. Graham Flour is a coarsely stone ground whole wheat flour, made from dark northern hard red wheat. It contains all the germ, oil and fiber from the whole wheat kernel. Unfortunately, that makes true graham crackers a no go for those of us that can’t have wheat. Never fear! I’ve come up with a recipe that will have you questioning how these gluten free graham crackers made with gluten free flour could possibly taste like the real deal.

Lets Make The Homemade Whipped Cream

The key to making great whipped cream is making sure the heavy whipping cream is chilled and if you can, chilling the bowl and mixing spoon or whisk as well.

The cooled cream and bowl will all the cream to whip the quickest and it will be the lightest and fluffiest.

It goes quickly from perfect to over0mixed so watch it while it mixes.

You want it to form peaks so that when you lift the beaters or whisk out from the bowl, a peak should form on them. The peak may slightly droop down, but not lose its shape entirely. It will neither be soft and liquid-y nor heavy and curdled.. You can always stop the mixer and check along the way.

Lets assemble the gluten-free chocolate cream pie!

Once you have all the parts made, just spoon the cooled chocolate pudding into the graham cracker crust and spread evenly and top with the whipped cream.

And as a finishing touch, I added some shaved chocolate that I made by using a carrot peeler on the edge of a chocolate bar.

If youre not serving immediately, store in a cool place or refrigerator.

This will make it easier to slice.

Then you have a creamy and luscious chocolate cream pie!

The graham cracker crust adds the best base to the creamy chocolate pudding and the whipped cream is creamy, not sweet so it is a perfect finishing touch!.

    Hope you love it!
