Food Processor- My food processor makes everything quick and easy and this recipe is no exception. Just combine all ingredients into the processor and let it do it’s thing.

Baking Sheet pans- You will need two large baking sheet pans for this recipe so that you can spread out the batter and bake 6 cauliflower tortillas on each pan.

Parchment paper- These are pre-cut parchment sheets that fit perfectly onto the sheet pans but you could also just buy a roll and cut to fit your pan. I like easy and quick and these precut work well for me. If I need them for a smaller pan I just cut them in half.

  • To reheat: Microwave for 30 seconds, before slicing in half and toasting in a toaster.

  • To make gluten-free tortilla chips, just make your tortillas, then cut them into triangles. Sprinkle oil or butter, and bake them on a baking sheet for around 5 minutes at 410°F.

How To Store Low Carb Tortilla Chips

Now honestly, I almost feel like this section is a waste of space. After all, we both know that these low carb tortilla chips are going to get eaten right away.

They are, after all, irresistible and you know youre just dying to have some no carb chips and salsa.

But, if youre planning ahead or just have really great self-control, you can store the chips for up to a week on the counter.

Be sure to keep them in an airtight container. This is especially important to help keep them crisp. Theyll last a couple of days on the counter this way.

If you want to get a head start and need them to keep longer, you can put them in your fridge for up to a week, or even in the freezer for longer.

If you are refrigerating or freezing, the keto chips will likely soften just a bit. But no worries. If that happens, you can reheat in the oven at low temperature to crisp them right up! Usually, 10 to 15 minutes at 200 degrees F works well.

Making Tortillas Without A Tortilla Press

If you don’t have a tortilla press you can just use the steps below!

Lay a sheet of parchment paperon your work surface area, add one of the balls, and then cover itwith another sheet of paper.

The reason you’ll want to sandwich the dough between parchment is that it makes it easier to work with the dough when you’re rolling it out. The tortilla doughcan be quite sticky and using paper is a big help in dealing with that.

Anyway, at this point, you’ll want to flatten the ball of dough with your hands. Once the dough is flat use a rolling pin to finish rolling the dough out.

Ideally, the dough should be about as thick as a penny, and 6 inches wide by 6 inches long.

I recommend using a small bowl that’s about 6 inches in diameter to test and see if you’ve rolled the dough out enough.

When you’ve got more dough than the bowl, remove the top layer of parchment paper and place the bowl back on the dough. Now use a knife to trace around the edges of the bowl. Once you’ve done that, remove and save the extra dough…You’ll be able to make a 5th keto tortilla out of it later on.

  • Cooking time: Depending on your pans exact heat, you may need to slightly reduce/increase the cooking time of these keto-friendly tortillas. Try not to overheat them, or they can become brittle and lose their flexibility.
  • If you plan to make tortillas often, it could be a great idea to get a tortilla press. Alternatively, use a heavy frying pan as a DIY press.
  • Make sure to keep any prepared almond flour tortillas under a kitchen cloth before serving otherwise, they can dry out quickly.

In summer, they are good cold with any cold meat, raw vegetables, and sauce. My favorite combo is mayonnaise, cold turkey, lettuce, and avocado.

Otherwise, they are amazing as a quesadilla filled with chicken fajita and cheese. I also recommend bringing them to a sandwich press when filled with cheese.

Bfree Quinoa And Chia Wraps

Almond Flour Low Carb Tortillas

I first tried BFree products when you recommended that I try their packaged gluten free bread. As a general rule, I dont care for products with psyllium husk as an ingredient , but BFree uses it more effectively than others.

These wraps are soft and chewy, very flexible and are generously sized. They dont taste strange to me at all, but the quinoa and chia formulation wont appeal to everyone as its very natural seeming.

The problem with BFree is their availability. The only viable source for me is, and they recommend freezer-safe shipping when ordering frozen products, especially in the warmer months. That increases the shipping cost and pressures you to purchase other products at the same time for economies of scale.

That lack of availability means that I wasnt willing to purchase their plain wraps, as I could only find those in a large quantity on for a really awful price. I wasnt willing to commit to that, and I think most people would feel the same.
