These Light Beers Are Said To Be Safe On The Gluten
Despite what some may believe, mainstream light beersincluding Corona, Bud Light, Coors Light, and Michelob Ultraare not gluten-free. These beers are made with barley and are not considered to be safe for people who need to follow the gluten-free diet. Therefore, if you’re gluten-free, you should avoid mainstream light beers and instead drink only beers that are specifically labeled “gluten-free.”
So why have some light beers gained a reputation of being OK to drink for people who have celiac disease and non-celiac gluten sensitivity? The answer to that question lies in how the beers are madeand maybe some wishful thinking.

What Beer Is Similar To Coors Light
I recently wrote an article on zero carb beers, it covered several low-calorie beers that are similar to Coors Light. Bud Light, Sam Adams Lite beer, and Marstons Resolution . There is also Skinny Brands lager which is only 89 calories per bottle. I havent tried this one yet, but it is on my list of beers to try so will keep you updated.
The thing is, and I alluded to this earlier, light beer is not that much lower in calories than regular beer. If you are looking to enjoy beer and lose weight, there are other ways to do that. Exercise more, cut out junk food better, drink LESS but keep your beers good.
Some people enjoy Coors Light in which case keep with it. But dont drink Coors Light if you dont like it. There are other beers, swap a pint for a bottle, swap 6 pints a night for 4 or 5. That is a more effective way to lower your calorie intake.

Gluten Free Vegan Pecan Pie Recipe
Any good southern girl will tell you that a family pecan pie recipe is a treasure passed on from generation to generation. And yes, I have one of those . But sometimes traditions need an update, and in this case, I think I might like my new gluten free vegan pecan pie recipe even better!
While I give options for using the traditional Karo syrup, if youre anti-Karo or you just prefer a less processed sweetener option, Id suggest using coconut nectar its as thick as Karo and I find that the flavors are deeper, yielding a more complex pie that isnt so hit-you-on-the-head sweet.
I also used gluten-free beer here *. It works wonders with the flaxseed meal as the egg substitute that holds this pie together, deliciously. And again, it adds flavor where the traditional pecan pie is just pure sweet. This recipe works just as deliciously without gluten free beer though, so feel free to just use your milk of choice, even non-dairy.

Wondering If Coors Light Beer Is Gluten
Celiac.com 06/05/2021 – We get a lot of questions from celiac community members wondering if certain products are gluten-free. One question we see a lot is about beers.
Specifically, is Coors Light gluten-free and safe for people with celiac disease? The short answer is no, Coors Light is not gluten-free, and is not recommended for people with celiac disease.

However, MillerCoors did once make a gluten-free beer called “Coors Peak,” which was certified gluten-free, but it may have been discontinued .
Because Coors Light contains barley malt, it is not gluten-free, and so not recommended for people with celiac disease. If you’re looking for a specific Coors Light product that contains alcohol and is gluten-free, then you might consider a Coors Light Seltzer. What Beer Has The Least Gluten
Keeping this in consideration, does all beer have gluten?
No, conventional beer is not gluten-free. Beer is typically made from a combination of malted barley and hops. Sometimes wheat is also used in the beer making process. Since both barley and wheat contain gluten, beers made from either are not gluten-free.
Likewise, is Corona Light beer gluten free? Corona and other light beers are technically gluten–free. As it turns out, many of these beers have less than 20 ppm gluten, even though they’re made with barley, and the companies are making no attempt to reduce the gluten content of their beers.
Then, which beers have the most gluten?
Most conventionally brewed beer contains far more than 20 ppm of gluten, though the exact amount varies depending on the brewing process and ingredients used.Types of beer and gluten content

Beer Bread Basics & Flour
When I use beer, I use less yeast and so will you.
IF I used self-rising flour I eliminate the salt.
You should too.
I use bread flour because it offers a moister bread in consistency, but self-rising flour is fine as well, just not as moist.
However, if you have NEVER baked bread, you wont know the difference, use what youve got and go from there.
Beer Bread Is Good With
Are you wondering if beer bread tastes like beer?
No. TO keep it short and sweet.
However, beer, really makes a great tasting bread.
That said, I use simple beers, nothing fancy, not lagers, not ales.
Sometimes those beers are nasty in the bread unless I have time to balance them out with spices or sugar.
I prefer to use basic beers that have been around forever to create beer bread.
Miller Genuine Draft, Coors, Coors Light, these all work well and are just the beginning of beer options.
Also, I use the WHOLE can of beer.

What Is Beer Made From
Lets get on the same page when it comes to beer and understand first where beer comes from and what ingredients are used to make it.
Beer is made from hops, malted barley, yeast, and water. Other flavorings, fruits, and spices can be added to give a unique flavor profile, but at its most basic, these are the only ingredients you need to make beer.
Olive Oil & My Beer Bread
Do not skimp on olive oil.
Always use extra virgin, that is what I do and I have never been disappointed.
Now if you dont have olive oil, you will need a fat source of some sort.
You can sub in butter for olive oil. Butter is 3/4 Tablespoon to every 1 Tablespoon of oil.
The butter has to be melted not hot, just melted.
Notice the conversion is not a 1:1.

The Evolution Of Gluten Free Beer
When I started writing this blog I was fairly open-minded about gluten reduced beer options. Two years ago, the gluten free beer market looked very different than it does today. There were way less options on the shelf for us then, and the options we did have were mostly gluten reduced.
Beers like Omission and Stone IPA seemed to dominate the west coast market then. You can even find old posts I wrote about them and why I thought they were finding such success in the market . Even just a couple years ago, there was a lot less information available about the potential consequences of consuming gluten reduced beers as a Celiac.
Howeverthings are changing. The shift has begun. New truly gluten free offerings are popping up every day, and we now have at least 5 breweries in the US that are 100% dedicated gluten free facilities. There are now just as many gluten free beers out there as there are gluten reduced. The problem now lies in distribution networks and consumer access to these options.
But as the market continues to adapt to the demand of the gluten intolerant community, our access to choices is improving. This adjustment in the gluten free beer landscape is a perfect opportunity to address a very important topic. Should gluten free individuals be consuming gluten reduced beer?

Wait Is Corona Gluten
In 2008, I participated in an allergy elimination diet. A friend of mine did it to figure out why she had heartburn, so I thought, what the heck. Maybe Ill figure out why I have so many headaches. It was a grueling, arduous six-week process that required me to give up my favorite food while being plagued by even more headaches thanks to that cold-turkey caffeine withdrawal. I did discover that a build-up of histamines was the cause of my distress and I just needed to cool it on many of my go-to foods . I also discovered what a horrible place the world is when youre trying to survive on allergen-free foods.
I had to cook 100 percent of my meals while avoiding anything social, like going out to eat, grabbing a coffee with a friend, or enjoying a beer at happy hour. It basically led me to become so depressed near the end of the diet that I started surviving on nothing but almond butter on rice cakes. It was a great way to lose some weight, but I also pretty much lost the will to live. Life without my favorite foods just wasnt living.
To make things even more complicated, the FDA has a caveat: Any product that originally contained wheat, rye, or barley cant be labeled gluten-free even if they have less than the legal limit. So a Stone Delicious IPA or New Belgium Glutiny Pale Ale can only be labeled gluten-reduced, because thats what they are.
