This vegan stir fry sauce is a simple way to get extra veggies in your diet. Im all about making recipes plant-based when I can. Vegan cooking does NOT have to be bland, boring, or flavorless Its quite the opposite when done right. By building meals around vegan pantry staples and swapping in a few plant-based ingredients you can make healthier meals for you and your family. These easy and healthy recipes are fantastic meatless and dairy free meals for your table.

Quick Recipe For Gluten Free Stir Fry Sauce

If youd like to simply whip up your own stir fry sauce, its actually quite easy and well give you an example here of one that you can easily make in a pinch. Youre going to need the following ingredients:

  • Gluten-free Soy or Tamari sauce
  • Toasted Sesame oil
  • Low-sodium vegetable or chicken broth

Now, youll notice that weve listed the rice vinegar and the corn starch last. Thats because this is a free-form style recipe, so youll basically just start with your soy or tamari sauce and start adding the other flavors to taste.

When youve tweaked it to your liking, add a little rice vinegar to lighten it up and acidify the mix to better blend the flavors, finally adding corn starch in small amounts at a time until it thickens up the way that you want it.

Best of all, you can refrigerate this free-form mix for up to 5 days if you find a combination that you like and might want to enjoy again later in the week!

This gluten free Chicken Stir Fry is great for a quick weeknight dinner, or those days you are really missing take-out. Made from scratch, you can add whatever vegetables you like to customize your stir fry.

Back in the pre gluten-free days, my husband and I enjoyed having a quick stir fry for supper, but it became a thing of the past once I was diagnosed with Celiac because I only knew how to make stir fry using the little packages of seasoning mixes that you find in the grocery store.

You know the onesjust add water and *presto*, your sauce is prepared.

I decided to try my hand at recreating this dish from scratch no packages this time. It is super easy to make, and can actually be prepared in less time than take-out.

The great thing about making your own gluten free Chicken Stir Fry at home is the ability to customize it with whatever vegetables you love. The recipe, as written, is only a suggestion. If there is something you dont like, feel free to make substitutions.

Some things that would go great in chicken stir fry are chopped up zucchini, baby corn, water chestnuts, or sugar snap peas. Dont like bean sprouts? Feel free to leave them out. The choice is yours.

This recipe makes a lot of sauce. If you dont want a really saucy chicken stir fry, feel free to halve the sauce ingredients. We like to have a lot of sauce so that it flavours the rice or noodles that we serve it with as well.

When it comes to getting dinner on the table quickly, a go-to easy stir fry sauce recipe is a game changer.

My version has only 6 ingredients and 2 of those are optional doesn’t get much easier than that!

This stir fry sauce is Paleo and Gluten Free and also works for Keto if you leave out the optional honey.

After a lot of experimenting, this is my go-to stir fry sauce recipe because it comes together super quickly and only contains simple ingredients you likely already have. Double win!

It also works for any protein. You can use this sauce for simple stir fry veggies or with shrimp, chicken, steak or whatever else you think of!

Here are some of my favorite combos to try out with this healthy stir fry sauce:

  • Chinese Pork Stir Fry: Pork loin, bell peppers, & bok choy
  • Beef and Broccoli: beef, broccoli, & onions
  • Shrimp Stir Fry w/ Snow Peas: Shrimp, snow peas, & red bell pepper strips

What Are Coconut Aminos

Stir Fry Sauces With Gluten And What To Watch Out For

Some products are quite common for stir fries, such a Amoy Oyster sauce, which is definitely delicious but as far as gluten goes, this one is one to avoid. A lot of oyster sauces, Amoy included, include wheat as a thickening agent, or soy sauce that is made with wheat.

Chinese garlic sauce is another example. While its yummy and quite popular for stir-frying with, it does contain wheat in most cases, so youll have to check the label on your favorite brand to ensure that this is not the case if you are going to use it.

Keep an eye for wheat in the ingredients or better yet, try to target brands that advise specifically that they use a gluten-free Tamari or soy sauce blend. If its not listed on the label, its best not to trust it, or at least to hold off on your purchase and check the manufacturers website on line to confirm.

How To Use This Stir Fry Sauce

This scratch made stir fry sauce can be used in a variety of different ways for quick and healthy meals.

You could use it for a veggie stir fry, chicken stir fry, shrimp stir fry, pork stir fry, or stir fried noodles. It could even be used as a marinade for your favorite protein.

I generally recommend cooking all of your vegetables, protein, and aromatics first and then adding the stir fry sauce for the final minute or two of cook time until slightly thickened and coats the stir fry ingredients.

For a stir fry that makes about 4 servings use approximately 1/2 cup of stir fry sauce, or a little more or less to taste. Remember to shake well to incorporate the arrowroot powder before using.
