Frequently Asked Questions And Answers
What are people saying about pizza places in Fort Lauderdale, FL?
This is a review for pizza places in Fort Lauderdale, FL:
“First off, this place has much more than mostly pizza as the menu hints at here on Yelp. It’s mostly classic an original Italian cuisine. I had potato gnocchi with what they called pink sauce which reminded me of Vodka sauce. The gnocchi was cooked very well and was very soft. Before our meal they served us bread that was definitely made in house. My wife’s meal was also fantastic. The sausage was made there and the pasta was made there. The mushroom sauce was perfect and you could easily taste the mushrooms. We kind of decided to go here for dinner on a whim, and we were very pleased. Our waiter was also very good.”
Fuel Up For Outdoor Adventures With Healthy Eats
Fort Lauderdale is home to a long list of outdoor attractions, from state parks packed with wildlife and tranquil gardens overflowing with blooms to historical spots with fascinating museums. When youre ready for an adventure, head north from Fresh First and take your pick between two of my favorite sites. If youre looking for a mix of art, history and nature, youll want to spend a few hours wandering through Bonnet House Museum & Gardens, a historic home with gorgeous grounds.
If youd rather skip the art and architecture and explore the great outdoors, set your sights on Hugh Taylor Birch State Park instead. Also known as Fort Lauderdales Central Park, its just large enough to transport you away from the bustling metro area and into a green oasis. With its easy walking trails, awe-inspiring mangrove forests and ample bird-watching opportunities, this park has tons of activities to do on dry land. But if you dont mind getting wet, youll also want to rent a kayak and paddle along the palmettos and through Birch State Parks central lagoon.
The entire menu here is gluten free, from the bowls to the drinks to the desserts. Bowlicious also has a comprehensive allergen guide to help you identify dairy-free, nut-free and other free-from options.

Catch The Sunrise To Start The Day Right
I might not be a morning person, but the promise of watching an unforgettable sunrise has a way of making me eager to wake up before dawn. Fort Lauderdales sunrises dont disappoint, especially if you catch the sun coming up over the waves at Las Olas Beach. Arrive early enough, and youll have the beach mostly to yourself, allowing for a quiet moment or two before the sun-seeking crowds descend on this sandy stretch.
After you soak up the first few rays of the day, its time for coffee and a bite to eat. Breakfast has always been my favorite meal of the day, but Fort Lauderdales Fresh First has taken my love for this morning meal to an entirely new level. This completely gluten-free restaurant serves up flavorful dishes with a healthy side of sunshine seven mornings a week.
Youll feel like youre in the right place as soon as you step in the door, as owners Eliana and Tarso Teixeira have made their restaurant a welcoming space for friends, families, locals and visitors alike. As part of a plant-based family that also juggles celiac and food allergies, Eliana and Tarso knew that they wanted Fresh First to be a place where their family would love to eatand a space where other food-challenged families could dine and socialize comfortably.

Good for:Dining options:Description:Gluten-free pizza!
I was so happy to find this Italian restaurant that serves gluten-free pasta and pizza dishes. Had a lovely lunch al-fresco of gluten-free pizza with artichokes and two different kinds of cheeses. It arrived piping hot and delicious, such a treat! It’s not easy to eat gluten-free when you’re on holiday if you don’t want to keep eating salad all the time. Kudos to this restaurant for adding gluten-free items to their menu.
Take In The Waterfront Sights And Eat Fresh
After a well-balanced meal, its time to walk off lunch in the Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District. Perched along the New River, this is where youll find many of Fort Lauderdales best cultural and shopping destinations. From retail therapy along Las Olas Boulevard and history at the Stranahan House to exhibitions at the NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale and shows at the Broward Center for Performing Arts, Riverwalk is the citys vibrant center.
If you love the healthy bowl trend as much as I do, youll want to stop by Bolay for dinner. This South Florida chains gluten-free food service certification from the Gluten Intolerance Group sets it apart, making it a smart and safe option on Fort Lauderdales southwest side.
Everything at Bolay is gluten free, and the quick-service restaurant easily accommodates other allergies, too. Bolay has an easy-to-use guide that highlights the top eight allergens, so you can choose the ingredients that work best for your dish. Build your own bowl with bases like cilantro noodles or orange basil quinoa, add veggies like ginger broccoli and herb-roasted potatoes or proteins like miso-glazed tofu, and top it with sauces like spicy Thai or cilantro pesto.

Ats A Pizza Fort Lauderdale
I have passed by Ats a Pizza in Fort Lauderdale dozens of times while driving back and forth on Las Olas Blvd, and only went in once, like ten years ago after I moved here. I never went back, because it just didnt taste good, and I was on a hunt to actually find the places that didnt suck after experiencing some horrific pizza places in Boca Raton. Well the time came that Andy and Willie asked to go eat there one day for lunch, and I obliged.
The inside of Ats a Pizza in Fort Lauderdale on Las Olas Blvd. didnt look like it had changed in the last decade. The only difference were the signs saying that they now had gluten free pizza, which I think was great, since so many people get excluded from pizza because of dietary issues. We ordered some slices and began our wait. I began to notice how empty the place was, and thought that it might have something to do with it being 1pm, but that doesnt seem like an off hour. Oh well, maybe they do a strong dinner.

While Im traveling, I always do my research. As someone who consumes a vegan diet, I always try my best to look up where I can find vegetarian dishes in advance. I came across Fresh First in my searches and thankfully, it was just down the street from our hotel. After a quick walk from the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina , we found Fresh First. Now, we probably should have reached it in under ten minutes, except we walked right past the plaza. Thankfully, we were able to locate the restaurant tucked away behind a parking garage in a strip mall. After tasting the food and drinks, we knew that it was well worth the extra effort to find the place!
Fresh First is not strictly a vegan or vegetarian restaurant, though they do specialize in these dietary options. Fresh First is Floridas first 100% gluten-free restaurant and juice bar. Youll find wholesome, organic meals here and of course, its fantastic for those who cant consume wheat. While we missed out on the breakfast menu , it does feature two vegan meals: a tofu scramble, and an oatmeal prepared with almond milk. Lunch is served from 11am-3pm yes, the restaurant closes at 3 oclock, so make sure you get there in time!

Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth With Gluten
When Im traveling, I can never resist visiting a gluten-free bakery, especially one as tasty as Sweet Love. Located on the west side of Fort Lauderdale, Sweet Love is a completely gluten-free bakery that also offers dairy-free, non-GMO and kosher goodies. Owner Ana Buendia prides herself on providing treats that everyone can enjoy, no matter what dietary restrictions they might have.
Its easy to see why the cupcakes and cake pops are bestsellers here, and I found the donuts and pound cakes irresistible, too. Although Sweet Love specializes in desserts and sweet treats like waffles, the bakery offers savory bites, too. Call ahead to order a pizza, and Sweet Love will have it hot and ready when you arrive.
I recommend stopping at Sweet Love before starting an adventure-filled day or while youre on your way out of town so you can stock up on gluten-free goodies to go. The pound cake and donuts travel particularly well and can keep you going through a garden walk, during a day on the beach, or on the plane ride home.
Ideal for a quick stop during a bigger adventure in the Sunshine State or for a longer stay in South Florida, Fort Lauderdale has tons of gluten-free options to keep you satisfied.
