Shopping Gluten Free At Walmart
While every Walmart is different, and some locations have more gluten-free foods than others, I have found at least a small section of gluten-free foods.
In my Walmart in Centennial, Colorado, it used to be a very small section, but after a recent visit to Walmart, I couldnt help but notice that the gluten-free section had easily tripled in size!

To identify the gluten-free section, look for a yellow banner hanging above the section titled, Gluten Free. Heres what it looks like:
Also, you can find additional gluten-free items throughout the store not just in the gluten-free designated area. Look for yellow shelf tags that indicate specific items are gluten free.
Also be sure to look for a dedicated section of gluten-free foods in the frozen food aisle. In my local Walmart, I found a decent section of gluten-free and paleo frozen foods, including gluten-free frozen pizzas, frozen meals, frozen waffles and more.
Keep in mind that not all gluten-free products have a yellow shelf tag so you may have to peck through the aisles to find gluten-free items. I suspect that companies have to pay for that yellow tag and not all do.
Of course many products are gluten free even if not labeled gluten free, such as peanut butters, canned fruits, etc.

Who Makes Walmart Cakes
Walmart doesnt actually bake their own cakes in the store bakery instead, according to The Grocery Store Guy, they come pre-baked and frozen.
The sheet cakes are by the recognizable brand Pillsbury .
And the round cakes, according to a Walmart employee, came from Best Brands, Inc., a bakery in Minnesota.
Since 2011, Best Brands has been acquired by a Netherlandish company, then was acquired from that company in 2017 by BakeMark.
Buying Cakes From Walmart Bakery How Much Notice Should I Give
Youll want to give a few days notice for customized cakes. This allows the bakers plenty of time to decorate the cake to perfection! To be honest, the longer, the better. We suggest giving the bakery at least three to five days notice for small to medium cakes, although they can be ordered with just 24 hours notice.

- Bake the cake for 25-30 minutes. Please watch your oven because all ovens are different. Check the center of the cake by inserting a toothpick to make sure it is done. You will also see the sides of the cake pulling away from the side of the pan.
- Make chocolate buttercream frosting from the steps below.
- Allow the cakes to completely cool before frosting. I like to use a baking cooling rack.
- Store leftovers in an air-tight container.

Last but not least, after scanning the Walmart cake prices above, you are most likely interested in ordering one. Unfortunately, like many other bakeries, you cant order a Walmart cake directly online. What you can do, however, is download their order form, print it, fill it out, and present it to your Walmart baker. The bakery kindly asks customers to order at least 24 hours in advance, and at least a few days ahead if you want to order a wedding cake.
As for the form, you can start completing it by providing your personal information in the top part. Make sure your phone number is correct, so you can be contacted by the bakery. Then, select the size of your desired cake, or the number of cupcakes you want included. You can continue with flavors, icing, and filling. The style needs to be mentioned before you finish, but you can also add instructions or other messages in the last part.

I have found that the best way to measure gluten-free flour is to use the spoon & level method. It is always best to use a dry measuring cup to measure flour, not glass measuring cups used for liquid.
Use a spoon to scoop the flour out of the bag into a measuring cup. After spooning the flour into a measuring cup, use the back of a knife to level the flour off of the measuring cup.
Please do not use a measuring cup to scoop the flour directly out of the bag or you could get more flour than the recipe calls for.
