More upscale setting and clientele than Olive Garden. And, unlike OG, you can make reservations, so you don’t have to camp out with the masses outside in the weather. This is not a bar, so it’s quieter. Easy to have a conversation. The food is very tasty and portion sizes are reasonable.
I normally go to Olive Garden or small family-owned places for Italian food. However, my husband took me here for my birthday, and it’s a pretty nice place. He got some sort of sausage pasta dish, and I got a mahi-mahi fish taco. The food was delicious. The service was okay. They should put nicer tablecloths out. My experience was pretty good. I would go back.

Carrabbas does have strong choices for gluten free meals but you still need to have a discussion with your waiter. A call ahead will help as well. Prepare yourself as much as possible.
If you are getting the pasta and cross contamination is a worry for you, then you certainly need to ask about the waiter. Often times in restaurants they reuse water when boiling pasta. Makes sense to save water, but for someone with Celiac disease, this is a nightmare.
So talk to your waiter. Ask them the questions you need answered to ensure you have a favorable dining experience. Ive always had friendly and attentive wait staff there, so Im sure they will do their best!
The better option if cross contamination is a concern for you, stick to the grilled steaks or chicken. They are delicious, so you are still in the win column.
