Canyon Bakehouse breads have quickly become my favorite gluten-free bread on the market. I started a love with their items in 2014, and have been excited with each new product launch. Canyon Bakehouse breads not only taste great, but they have a great heart and give back to the Celiac Disease community. They generously give to our Michigan Celiac Disease kids camp, and I love seeing their staff at expos. Theyre just so kind.
What Is The Best Gluten Free White Bread
The best gluten free white bread in my opinion would be Udis Gluten Free Frozen White Bread.
This bread comes in an 18oz loaf which is much larger than most other similar bread but is about the same price.
You can get Udis Gluten Free Frozen White Bread from Target for around $5.49 and it is sold at many other stores as well.

French Bread Pizza Made With Focaccia
My other big excitement was the focaccia bread. While nothing beats the taste of local and fresh from the oven, this focaccia was good. I actually used it as a base for pizza. The added seasonings in the focaccia made for a flavorful and healthy pizza. Each serving has 3 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber.
Snow and cold is a recurring theme here in Michigan, and my husband and I recently had a snow day again, due to over a foot of snow and frigid wind chill temperatures. So I made a simple breakfast casserole, this time with the 7 grain bread. I used the following recipe, which I conveniently found in the box for my Pampered Chef Small Oval Baker box. I did make a few tweaks from the original, adding an extra piece of bread and more turkey ham. Ive made it more than once, and find it to be amazing with their Deli Style Rye bread as well.
My husband REALLY loved this. He asked me if there were ever times that I wanted to cry because of a dish I hadnt been able to eat in a long time due to my celiac. There have been times. My husband is allergic to pork, so I dont think hes had a breakfast casserole like this in a LONG time. He was SO happy.

Schr Gluten Free Multigrain Ciabatta Rolls
Easily identified by its bright yellow packaging, Schär is well known for producing soft, certified gluten-free breads.
Made with a gluten-free sourdough base, Schär Gluten-Free Multigrain Ciabatta Rolls have a pleasant taste and texture that closely resembles those of a traditional wheat-based sandwich roll.
These preservative-free rolls also contain buckwheat flour, flax seeds, and sunflower seeds.
Schär Multigrain Ciabatta Rolls are likewise a good option nutrition-wise, as theyre high in fiber, low in sugar, and contain a good amount of protein.
One roll provides 140 calories, 1 gram of fat, 0 grams of saturated fat, 190 mg of sodium, 28 grams of carbs, 5 grams of fiber, 2 grams of sugar, and 3 grams of protein .
While they get good reviews for taste and texture, the one downside of these rolls is that theyre one of the more expensive gluten-free bread options.

Tasting Notes For Canyon Bakehouse Gluten
I had to freeze most of our Canyon Bakehouse Gluten-Free Bread when it landed because Id ordered several different varieties. So technically, we didnt get to try it completely un-toasted. But I only lightly heated it and found the texture quite appealing and very, dare I say, bread like. It was tender rather than chewy, while being soft and crisp in all the right spots. When it cooled fully, there was just a hint of that gummy gluten-free consistency, but not enough to be very noticeable when used for sandwiches or slathered with a spread.
When I tried these products, Canyon Bakehouse was just beginning to experiment with stay-fresh packaging. They now offer a few loaves with this packaging, which keeps the bread fresh for up to 90 days before opening. If you choose a loaves without the fancy packaging, dont worry, they freeze well!

Canyon Bakehouse has been producing gluten-free breads for over 10 years in its dedicated gluten-free facility.
In addition to being certified gluten-free by GFCO, all of their products are soy-free, dairy-free, tree-nut-free, and peanut-free.
Canyon Bakehouse Ancient Grain Bread is made from a base of both tapioca and brown rice flour. It also contains several whole grains and seeds, including sorghum flour, oat flour, sunflower seeds, millet, teff, amaranth, and quinoa.
However, as it does contain egg whites, this bread is unsuitable for vegans or those with egg allergies.
In addition to containing high quality ingredients, Ancient Grain Bread is low in sugar and has a thickness similar to that of traditional sliced bread. Reviewers like that its enjoyable both toasted and straight from the package.

Actually, the Deli Style Rye was the first of the Canyon Bakehouse breads that I tried. Straight from the bag it was nice and soft. My husband said he could immediately notice the distinct Caraway flavor. Of course, when one mentions Rye bread, thoughts of a Reuben sandwich immediately come to mind. Rejoice, as being GF no longer means living without this sandwich! This bread only contains 70 calories and, like the rest of their sliced breads, has 2 grams of fiber and 2 grams of protein.

From my experience, a lot of wheat alternative bread is usually dry, crumbly, and tastes extremely bland. This might be because most brands contain flours that dont rise as well, like rice flour.
