Caulipower Cauliflower Pizza Crust

Caulipower sells ready-made frozen gluten-free pizzas as well as plain gluten-free crusts, and one of our readers recommends you go straight for the crust and add your own toppings. The company offers a pretty impressive array of products, for a brand founded on a cauliflower pun, should you need other gluten-free foods in your kitchen. And the certification provides an extra boost of confidence.

How To Make Gluten

  • Preheat your oven to the proofing setting or to 200°F. Once it gets to 100°, turn off your oven.
  • In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose gluten-free flour, instant yeast, gluten-free baking powder, and salt. Stir to combine the ingredients.
  • Warm the water to 110°-115°F. I microwave the water in a large glass measuring cup for 45 seconds. I also use a thermometer to check the temperature. If your water is too hot it will kill the yeast.
  • Add the honey to the warm water and stir until it is dissolved.
  • Pour the warm water and honey mixture into the gluten-free flour mixture and mix with your mixer on low. .
  • Pour the olive oil and apple cider vinegar into the dough mixture and mix on low speed for 1-2 minutes, until the dough starts to form. The dough will be very sticky.
  • Place the pizza dough in a greased ovenproof bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Cover the bowl with a towel and place in your warm oven for 30 minutes to rise.
  • Remove the dough from the oven and preheat the oven to 425° F.

The Best Bay Area Gluten

Pizza is probably Americas favorite default dinner, but its a dish that a lot of people take for granted. When the average person is hungry, its easy to call a favorite delivery place or walk down to a local pizzeria to grab a slice. Pizza is cheap, portable, incredibly savory, and seems to have an eternal half-life when left on a unrefrigerated countertop. It makes sense that it claims the position as Americas favorite food.

But what if you cant eat the primary component of pizza, the part on which all savory toppings rely the crust? For decades, gluten-free folk were out of luck. Aside from making any number of pizza-like concoctions at home, it was all but impossible to order for delivery or find a sit-down place where you could enjoy a pie with your friends. Pizza, as heartbreaking as it sounds, was off limits. Serious fail.

GLUTEN-FREE PIZZA PLACES AROUND THE BAY AREAI know I keep saying how lucky we are to live in the Bay Area, where a huge variety of gluten-free options are available to everyone. We live in a place where, on a moments notice, anyone with a gluten-free constitution can get an allergy-friendly baguette at a local bakery and cupcakes at the supermarkets. So what about pizza? Thankfully, we have many awesome pizzerias around the San Francisco Bay that serve up a dish so good, so dripping with ooey-gooey mozzarella and fresh pepperoni, that youve never miss regular, gluten-laden pizza again. Here are a few of my favorite places.

Grill:Preheat grill until hot. Place unwrapped calzone on grill. Cook over indirect heat, covered, until crust is lightly browned, about 10 to 12 minutes.

Fastest Way :Remove plastic and place in the microwave. Cook calzone for 2 minutes on high.

FROM FROZEN: Add 2-3 minutes to the usual cook time.

Caution: cheese will be hot, let stand for 2-3 minutes.

Sometimes nothing beats getting a pizza delivered to your door – and there lots of gluten free pizza deliveries in the UK.

Getting a gluten free pizza delivery is in fact easy, and there are plenty of options if you have coeliac disease for a coeliac-safe pizza.

I thought I’d outline some of the UK national chains where you can get a gluten free pizza delivery.

Most of these are safe for people with coeliac disease – and where they are not, I will clearly state this.

I have coeliac disease and would only eat from coeliac-safe venues, but I know many who follow me don’t have to be as strict on cross contamination.

I wanted to also make sure the non-coeliac-safe venues were included so you can clearly see which ones are considered safe when making a decision on your gluten free pizza delivery.

All the information is correct as of June 2021, but obviously menus do change often so please always double check before ordering.

It may be that you also need to contact the restaurant directly to state you have coeliac disease, so please do bear this in mind.

It should also be said that there are many wonderful independent restaurants offering coeliac-safe gluten free pizzas, so please do check your local area too.

    Dish By Dish Tips/tricks:

    • Testing the Yeast: Start off by mixing the warm water , sugar, and instant yeast in a small bowl and let it sit in a warm place for five minutes until it turns foamy. This step is important for you to check if the yeast is working. If the yeast mixture doesnt foam up, it means that the yeast is expired. Throw it away and start again with a new packet of yeast.
    • Replace Brown Rice Flour with Other Flours: I like adding brown rice flour in addition to the gluten-free all-purpose flour to add a bit more fiber and give it more of a whole grain feel. If you prefer, you can also replace the brown rice flour with other flours that are rich in fiber such as millet flour, sorghum flour, or buckwheat flour.
    • Crust Thickness: Depending on how your like your crust, you may get one large pizza or two smaller pizzas .

Add Wet Ingredients To Dry Ingredients To Form Pizza Dough

Add in the beaten egg, oil, apple cider vinegar, and the yeast mixture. Mix very well together until you get a thick sticky dough .

Theres no rise needed, so you dont have to wait for the pizza crust to double in size the rising gets down in the oven. Theres also no kneading required, as with most gluten-free bread dough, which is perfect.

You can choose from the classic Napoletana or Specialé slice, both featured here, or a variety of other gluten-free-friendly slices.
