    What Can Vegans Use Instead Of Honey

    My two go-to sweeteners are date syrup and maple syrup.

    Date syrup is dates that have been blended into a syrup. It is incredibly healthy compared to other sweeteners as it retains the nutrients and fiber from the original fruit. It’s also fairly minimally processed – you could make it at home if you wanted to.

    Maple syrup is slightly more processed and more refined than date syrup. But it is still a fairly healthy sweetener compared to white sugar. When eaten in moderation it is totally okay.

    So, for these ‘Honey’ Roasted Peanuts you can use either date syrup or maple syrup. Either option will create a delicious and sweet snack that’s completely vegan.

    How To Make Honey Roasted Peanuts Step By Step Images

    First, add the honey, coconut oil, and sea salt in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. It’s nice you can control the sodium in this peanuts recipe too! I use just one teaspoon salt.

    Stir the mixture and let the coconut oil melt.

    Next, remove from the heat and add the nuts to the pot.

    Give it all a good stir and coat the peanuts well.

    Finally, how to roast raw peanuts.

    Pour the contents of the pot into a prepared baking sheet or baking dish that has been coated with a bit of cooking spray. Spread the peanuts into a single layer and bake in the oven for thirty minutes.

    I use a 9×13 roasting pan but a rimmed baking sheet works just as well.

    You will have to take the tray out every ten minutes or so to stir and ensure nothing is sticking or burning.

    It also lets you sample the goods while you work.

    Once they are roasted to a nice golden brown take them out of the oven and place peanuts in a large mixing bowl.

    Sprinkle them with coconut sugar and toss the roasted nuts with coconut sugar to absorb all the goodness. Stir it every so often as they cool so it doesn’t form one huge clump.
