We Like To Say We Own Our Happy

CLIF Whey Protein Bar: Salted Caramel Cashew, Peanut Butter Chocolate, Coconut Almond Chocolate

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN EXACTLY?

It all started with our founder Sergey, fearless inventor of Clio Snacks.

At the same time, he was just like any other dad trying to figure out fun ways to get his kids to eat nourishing foods.

As a Ukrainian immigrant and former accountant, Sergey had a dream to be an entrepreneur and find what truly made him happy.

One night, he noticed his kids were curious about a batch of strained Greek yogurt in the fridge. Where one parent mightve seen a mess, Sergey saw a delicious opportunity.

One night, he noticed his kids were curious about a batch of strained Greek yogurt in the fridge. Where one parent mightve seen a mess, Sergey saw a delicious opportunity.

Curiosity led us to an innovative idea that brought yogurt into the 21st century.

And Clio bars led us all running to refrigerated aisles everywhere.

Thats why at Clio, when you own your happy, its everything.

We believe in being curious about new ideas. Because messing with a good thing can only make it better.

Its about not compromising. Because who says we cant eat yogurt that tastes like cheesecake?

And when it does, well be right there with you. And well pack snacks.

The Nutrition Bar Buying Guide

  • High protein and fiber are two must-haves in your nutrition bars.
  • The lower the sugar the better. Some so-called nutrition bars have more sugar than a candy bar.
  • Make sure the sugar is from a natural source such as fruit, no aspartame, high-fructose corn syrup, or other fake sugars.
  • There are some nutrition bars that are specifically for snacking to hold you over in between meals.
  • You will find bars that are great for weight loss with high fiber contents.
  • Some nutrition bars are just for energy without the energy label, usually containing high protein and lots of healthy carbohydrates.
  • Shop directly on company websites to see if they offer free samples before you commit to buying an entire package.
  • Some health food stores will offer free mini-samples in store for you to try before you buy.
  • These nutrition bars are not meant to replace meals, just offer healthy alternatives for snacks.

About These Homemade Clif Bars

CLIF Builders Protein Bars, Gluten Free, 20g Protein, Crunchy Peanut ...

They are gluten-free and vegan of course. They are low fat and nut-free with no nut butters or oils needed. I used extra date paste to take care of all the binding. They contain oat bran for more fiber. If you dont have it or dont care to use it, sub oat flour instead. Since Clif Bars are meant to be a protein bar, I added some plant-based protein powder. I went with my favorite brand, Kachava. You can use any unflavored or vanilla vegan protein powder, or leave it out and substitute with oat flour instead. Or you could make them peanut butter chocolate chip by using powdered peanut butter in place of the protein powder. It will add protein and delicious PB flavor!Crunchy bits are a must, so I used brown rice crisp cereal to recreate that texture. Puffed rice cereal will not work as well as the crispy kind. They are SWEET! Dates + coconut nectar makes these quite sweet, but I was trying to stay as true to Clif Bar flavor as possible and the first ingredients is a sweetener. They are delicious!

Now Ive DIYed them, its your turn. And if you do, post a pic on with #feastingonfruit so I can see those chocolate chip snack bar beauties!

  • 1/3 cup coconut nectar or maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp molasses
  • 1 cup brown rice crisp cereal
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup vegan vanilla protein powder
  • 1/4 cup oat bran
  • 2 tbsps flax seed meal
  • 1/4 cup vegan mini chocolate chips
